Might be worth checking that the spring on the door handle, operating the catch hook is operating effectively.

ParticipantRe: Hoover Vision VHD814
Just to post that it was indeed the program module. New fitted and all ok. When I said the machine went dead, a better description would have been, gone to sleep, as the indicator lights were still on but no action of any kind from the machine. Thanks to Martin for his help.

ParticipantRe: wm premature bearing failures
Intermittent pump problems can cause early failure of bearings. Check sump trap for debris.

Check the mains supply, faulty wiring in wall socket can contribute to this type of fault

ParticipantRe: WMA60P Throwing belt off
I had one once that had cracked the front single motor mount bracket on the tub. All appeared ok until it had a load in which caused motor to flap and throw belt off.

ParticipantRe: Connect next day delivery? Am I just unlucky?
I was told by one DHL delivery guy that orders from Connect and Partscenter are now sent using DHL home delivery service, which does not guarantee next day delivery, as does DHL business, and may be up to 4 days! Having said that I have not had any problem other than the DHL home delivery arrives later in the day, but so far it has been next day. I will no longer give time scale to customers, if I need to get parts, just in case!!
Strange thing is, both guys in separate vans, from the same depot, deliver parcels to different addresses in the same street on the same day. I always thought the Germans were highly efficient. Just goes to show.mvitorio
ParticipantRe: apdw/2
I would guess the pump motor is an Askoll magnetic type. This has tendency to twist and put a strain on the short concertina outlet hose. This hose splits, and voila, base full of water, shorts out motor terminals. New motor part number 481236158432 is CESET capacitor start type, retails approx £100. Check new motor turns before fitting as I have found poor assembly can jam rotor. Also I have previously found control module blown due to shorting of motor, but after resoldering tracks on module all worked ok.
Hope this helpsmvitorio
