ParticipantRe: Bosch main-oven lightbulb removal
Hi Dave – thanks for getting back
Before you posted I’d done a bit of online research and someone suggested that good old WD40 worked for them. Nothing venture…. We don’t use the main oven a great deal, so the glass is clean, which gave me hope.
Early morning, put a squirt on it, went off to have breakfast and left it. Came back, still no luck but gave it another squirt and left it. About 3 hours after the first squirt, missus had a go while I was shaving (couldn’t resist it, could she 😉 ) and unscrewed it! So the WD40, given enough time, may work for others too.

Thanks very much – that was the only way I could think of. Just hoped the experts had an answer that would be less hassle 😀

Second update – Goods received Friday am (Hermes forecast was for Saturday). One tablet now rattling around in machine 🙂
Great service. Thank you very much.

As an update – I’ve now ordered two packs of Affresh from UKwhitegoods and look forward to being able to provide a positive review.
Thanks for the helpful features and advice 🙂

Should have done a search first. The same question was answered for me in 2007.
Here’s the link in case someone else searches for the problem. So much for me making it a regular routine… 😆

ParticipantRe: Cold fill only on Hotpoint WMA56
Just ordered the Y-hose since the supply pipe is too close to the wall for the brass adapter.
Many thanks both for your constructive and helpful responses.
I always get 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} value from my admittedly rare visits here 🙂

ParticipantRe: Cannon Pembroke – oven door handle loose
Update – got it fixed. For anyone else doing a search:
Removed inner glass from door (it needed a good clean anyway!), making sure there was a thick towel on the tiled floor beneath it. Tried reaching in through that opening with angled screwdriver but couldn’t get it sitting properly in screw-head (Pozidriv).
Removed screw at top of side panel (directly above catch housing and next to handle’s screw) and found there was enough flex in the panel to allow screwdriver in from the top. Fiddly – probably less than a quarter-turn each time – but eventually got it tightened enough (worked on basis it was driving into plastic and took it gently). Spent a long time cleaning glass and discovered it was actually transparent :boops:
Thanks iadom – your response encouraged my laziness to take a closer look and find a way 🙂
Cheers

ParticipantRe: Advice needed – Safety Issue!
Engineer booked for Tuesday – and that “Yes” was just what I wanted to read. In the meantime I’ve switched off at the wall socket.

:eeek: It’s 13! (FD8307). I’d read the letter as meaning it would just be machines with model number starting SGS4 PLUS that batch number.
The machine is built in to the kitchen units, under a continuous worktop – is it likely the engineer will be able to do the work without moving the machine out?
Boy, am I glad I asked! :rolls:
I’ll get on to Bosch straight away. And many, many thanks!

Hope you’ll excuse me butting in on this thread, but it is related.
I’d be grateful if you experts would confirm for my wife’s benefit that – despite receiving the warning notice – our Bosch Exccel dishwasher, SRS43E02GB, is not included in this action….
Thanks in advance (and renewed thanks for past help!)

ParticipantRe: Hygena cooker hood APP 2410 – switch PCB
Having read again the guidance notes, I appreciate why I did not get a reply 🙂
Basically I was asking too much of you. I appreciate and understand your caution, since you have no way of knowing how able I am. However, we have managed to replace the switch panel (bought from you – good price, excellent fast service) and the extractor is working once more.
Thanks again. :

ParticipantRe: Why can’t we find a cordless iron?
Thanks – we’ve given up the search (partly thanks to your answers) and are now off to check what’s left in the sales 🙂
