    Re: Hygena Cooker Hood APM2592

The replacement switch assy is part number W0000059 and is available from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk at a cost of £27.04 inclusive of delivery.

You will need a soldering iron to connect the new switch unit to the wiring harness.

The switch should be on a cradle which is screwed in horizontally: two screws, one in each corner iirc. You need to be a bit of a contortionist to get your head underneath the hood facing back into the kitchen. Once the cradle comes out it detaches easily from the switch unit – it’s held on with another couple of screws.

Power off if going in and you’ll need to fully unplug the unit (not just switch it off) if you’re going to solder it.

If you would rahter leave it to a pro then click the link for repairs@ at the bottom of this post to find an engineer in your area.

Looking straight on at the back of the machine the ‘hot’ valve should be coloured red inside. The cold valve has no colouring.

Your developer should have a copy of the invoice for their records – try contacting their sales office and asking if they’ll send you a copy

Re: Diplomat APM 8512/01 not working

It’s worth noting that the module in this machine isn’t the same as the module in the normal APM8512. There should be a sticker along the front of the machine near the bottom (behind the kickboard) with a list of a few part numbers on it. It’s probably 546021400 (might be listed as 546021401) but worth checking before purchasing should you decide that it requires a new one.

Sounds like the motor is either jammed or seized. There may be something obstructing the fan – the power cable is favourite for this.

Power off please if you go to have a look.

If it turns out that the motor is not obstructed but it still isn’t turning then you can order a replacement online from UKW by emailing spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk at a cost of around £37 including delivery I think. The part number for the motor is 082300544.
It’s a soldering iron job and can be awkward to do without stripping the unit from the wall so if you’re unsure then you may be best calling in a local engineer to do it for you – click the link at the bottom of this post to search for someone in your area.

    This one’s a Smeg, not a Haier 😀

Still might be flooded as Penguin says above but this is one of the models that can be affected by power surges to the PCB

Do a search for “Diplomat AND reset” or “Smeg AND reset” on this forum and give the reset procedure a try – it may be that the PCB has defaulted to manufacturer’s settings and needs to be reprogrammed.

    Re: diplomat dishwasher

Your machine is a Smeg-built appliance and if it’s giving an E3 error as you suggest (1st two lights flashing, last one on constant) then there are several possible causes for the fault:

    Faulty heater
    Thermostat faulty/incorrectly positioned
    Electrical connections defective/insecure
    Spray arms obstructed/jammed
    Faulty motor
    Timer/programmer faulty

Without identifying the cause of the problem it could end up being expensive to start changing parts unnecessarily. You might be best getting in an expert to diagnose the fault for you.

If it’s the last two LEDs that are flashing then the board has defaulted to an unknown error code which isn’t related to any particular fault. Try running the machine again and taking note of the sequence of flashes before it changes to this: it sometimes changes to the two end lights flashing after it has been on another fault for a while.

Yup, holding the minus button in for a few seconds should give a test of the current setting. Keep holding it in and the clock should cycle through all available sounds – release the button when you get to the one you want.

That reset procedure is for the Smeg built Diplomats – I’m afraid that your one is a Haier and doesn’t function in the same way as the Smeg.

These Haier machines have also had a modified circuit board fitted to newer versions with a different transformer to cope with load spikes in the UK supply.

If the appliance still doesn’t work after the base has been cleared and you think a new circuit board may be in order the part number is 0120804253 and retails at £47.59 + VAT

Spares can be ordered from the UKW shop here

    Re: Diplomat ADP8342

Sounds like your machine may have flooded internally.

Not a pleasant job and best left to an engineer as to do it properly you have to strip the appliance – lots of sharp edges and :zap: risk – to get the water out.
There’s also the possibility that your motor might be water damaged – if the power starts tripping when you’re using the dishwasher then you’re probably looking at another £80+ for a new motor.

If you do decide to have a go then please unplug the appliance first before attempting to drain the base.
