Diagrams on http://www.bshcustomerservice.com show three components as 182136 – not terribly clear what they are – lid, actuator rod and something else….

Got to be a reasonable punt, as there is no specific spring shown at all.

Zanussi in a dress – this may well be an earth leakage problem. Try disconnecting the leads to the dryer elements and see if she’ll run. Wash heater and motor earth leaks can cause similar corruption problems. PCB itself may be corrupted. Try the dryer heater first – it’s quick and easy.

    Power off first.

A regular pulse from the drain pump and no other action is always a pcb fault.

As one of the authors of The Article, I’m surprised that it should be considered “infamous”. All we have doen is put the information into the public domain.

    Re: Comet In Financial Trouble?

Ill-considered posting, probably. The relative low numbers of posting company engineers as opposed to the large number of active independents leaves them as a bit of a soft target.

Fear of the employer is still a real threat.

Bit of perspective, Helo – you’ve got at least two on your side.

Re: Diplomat AMP 8702 Washer Dryer – motor sticking

Induction motor on this machine, so no brushes. It does, however, use a capacitor to “kick off” the motor. This gradually lose the ability to charge, so the motor will labour or stall.

Selection of capacitors HERE – yours will be either 18 or 20uf.

    Stay safe, power off.

Interesting point – consider – your MoT certificate, whilst valid for a year, is only accurate at the point at which it was signed – it is immediately out of date when you drive off.

    Re: AEG Competence oven

Usually THIS LITTLE CHAPPIE is the culprit. Switches cooling fan on. If it doesn’t, overheat stat shuts the oven down.

It’s under the top cover panel – power off first.

Resistance check should show coils reading c. 3.5kOhms each when split from the circuit.

    Powr off first, please.
