Comes back to the same basic question – does the cooling fan run or not? The new inductor is unlikely to be faulty – Electrolux up-dated them two or three years ago due to a high failure rate.

We cannot advise in matters relating to the gas functions of the oven. In all probability this a thermocouple issue – whether or not this is still available as a manufacturers part is debatable at this age.

I suggest that you contact a GasSafe engineer for a proper diagnosis.

Re: AEG OKO Lavamat 610 Electronic

Why did you empty it manually? The pump should drain the water, the water level switches should click down as they’re de-pressurised and the the timer should advance to the spin position. If the machine thinks that it’s full of water, it will hold at the drain position for ever…

Check motor carbon brushes. Door will lock and nothing else will happen if they’re worn out.

    Power off first.

Re: Bosch WWF1201- Motor not turning – help with testing pl

There are three circuits through the motor – armature, field coil and tacho circuit. Armature and field are the ones which run the motor and should read under 10 ohms. There is a thermal overload cut-out in-line with the brushes on teh armature circuit. If the old brushes were worn right down to the end, this may well have tripped out.

Test meter set to ohms, check resistance through the pump, should be in the region of 190-220 ohms. If that proves to be OK, following the wiring from the pump back to the pcb at the top and check the reading from that end, just to prove that the loom is intact. If it is, the fault is probably the pcb.

So casing off job – I did mention that the disc doesn’t open for me before, so a few pointers, please….?

Re: AEG OKO Lavamat 610 Electronic

Fine old machine, should be just about run in by now.

The scorching of the plastic drip cover is entirely normal – directly underneath is a large wire wound resistor on the pcb on the end of the timer and it does get hot.

First thoughts would be the water level control system – if the machine does not drain promptly, or the level switch does not drop out, the timer will not advance to spin. If you advance it manually, will it spin?

Check that the door is actually locking and that all the option buttons are out.

Re: Washing Machine won’t drain at spin

Ain’t no filter on an American top loader.

Two possibilities, really, partial blockage or damaged pump. Won’t spin properly until the water had gone. Either way, it’s a casing off and pull the pump job to find out what’s going on.

Check resistance through pump coil as a starting point – 190 ohms (approx) is good. Check pump motor “pings” round easily – they do wear. If still no joy, measures coil from the other end of the loom – there should be only a marginal increase in resistance. If still no pump action, the pcb may have bought it.

Stay safe, power off if working on the machine yourself.

Before worrying about stripping out pumps and demolishing half the machine, just take the lid off and check that the nozzle into the top of the water drawer isn’t blocked.

Re: Smeg DWI612C Possible PCB fault

Don’t know if QER do “no fault, no fee” for the public – got to be cheaper than paying out for a new pcb at this point. Do take on board the “cause and effect” elements of the article, though. A reconditioned board will not last long if it’s been corrupted by an underlying fault.
