Re: Smeg, Miele, Siemens: which integrated washer/dryer? Ad

Much as you may like Goatboy, he’s far too young to remember Logic suspensions………. 😀

The spring guides are still available – p/no 09003401, about a fiver a throw. The repair kit for the suspension is 09049313 and contains all the rubbers, pivots and washers to do both legs. It’s about £17 from memory. It’s a tank out job to do it, not difficult but requires plenty of patience. An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for up to date pricing and ordering.

Replacement? Well this thread is about integrated machines, but the general principals still apply – you gets what you pays for these days. So – anything under £250 I’d be very suspicious of. Bosch is generally popular among us engineers – reasonably reliable, sensible prices and ease of spares availability swing us! Miele is far and away the best and seem to go on for ever. Spares prices are horrific however – if required.

Worth checking out our own machine though – the ISE washer. Check the top of the home page or http://www.iseappliances.co.uk.

HTH, power off if you’re going to keep the old girl running.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

We had a spate of these about a year ago – never did get to the bottom of it. Still, didn’t appear to affect the machine’s function.

It’s actually a Bosch, sold by Whirlpool to IKEA 😯 . Give us a clue about the bits of plastic……..

Interlock is the usual culprit for blown tracks- not had a pump do it on one of these.

It’s almost certainly the board itself – may not be detecting or moving on from the temperature rise.

Got to say with your myriad of problems it’s time to get an engineer in – click the link below. With a good block of work, you might be pleasantly surprised at the cost……….

Re: Bauknecht GSX4756 problem – help!!!!!

The NTC is the temperature sensor. NTC is Negative Temperature Co-efficient – the higher the temperature, the lower the resistance. As DP has said, it’s fitted underneath in the bowl of the machine.

If you don’t know how to test this component properly or safely, you must get professional help – click the link below.

    Power off if investigating.

Re: Culprit found for Fire Alarm at Hotel

As one sat finishing my pint in the soulless, godforsaken, lobby of the hotel, I can provide Goatboy with an alibi (providing the cheque is in the post). We obviously heard the alarm go off, but the lobby was a big space (it needed to be with all those people trying to check in or waiting for the non-existant barman) so it wasn’t particularly loud, and the lobby doors were automatically opened and we could have escaped in seconds if needs be.

It was all a bit of a social high spot really. If we go there again, I’m not.

    Sorry.

I’d start by having a read of this:

Possibly the world’s definitive Mistral thread…… See if your symptoms match anything listed and you’ll get some idea of what will be involved.

Has this machine got a joint all the way down the side panels at the half way point?

You have your very own Oz forum down at the bottom of the Index BTW 😀

I’ve just come in to find that one. What’ve you done? Told him to buy an inverter?

    I haven’t replied yet.
