    Re: AEG Santo ptc starter

P/no for correct starter is 2101049-01/9, about £19+VAT. I don’t know if there is a suitable “pattern” alternative.

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for ordering and confirmed pricing.

    Power off when fitting please.

It may well be a simple case of overdosing in that case Lynn – there is a very small amount of water in a table top model, so it may not be able to dissolve the quantity of detergent being used. Result – gritty soilds being sluiced round.

That’s the beauty of powder – you can cut the dose down to suit your needs.

    Just a thought,

    Re: Bosch KGU34640GB Fridge/Freezer – worth repairing?

The lights are on the digital control board (expensive). Freezing up regularly is usually related to sensor failure, board failure, defrost failure, fan failure………. I suspect that you’re buying a pup.

It is a good appliance, but you will need to consider professional repair costs as part of your budget – these are tricky to get right.

Re: new Frigidaire dryer – motor doesn’t spin

Is this a UK appliance? If so, you should not do anything to it – we can’t condone anyone working on gas appliances without a CORGI gas certificate; the consequences don’t bear thinking about.

The likely problem will be the motor itself if there is no noise or drive belt if you can hear th e motor whirring away.

    Re: Indesit IDL705 S

Iadom’s gone to bed, so will confirm that the code indicates a circulation pump failure – it should cut in after an initial fill operiod. The motor is a capacitor start/run motor, so the capacitor may have failed; the motor itself may have failed or be jammed.

This is an expensive component, so at this point it is probably worth sending for the pros for a confirmed diagnosis – it might be an expensive mistake just taking a punt on the motor. Click the link below.

If carrying on yourself an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you prices and ordering.

    Power off if going inside………..

    Re: Bendix WD1054B

Looks like you’ve got us with this one…….. Bendix (or Tricity Bendix) in the UK is a Zanussi proprietory brand – presumably a different base machine over your end of the world.

You could try sticking up a piccie (you can upload through Profile) and see if that gets anything started. It’ll be the same as something we’ll recognise.

Depends if you’re going for a job interview or a “would you like a franchise” interview…….

Have a run down “The Rumour Mill” forum for some detailed discussions on the subject.

Switch off. Switch on and hit “start” 4 times within 3 seconds. 1 + 5 should now be lit. Switch off, count to 10, switch on and run rinse programme.
