Re: Westinghouse RJ422E Silhouette earth leakage on defrost

Can’t claim any great expertise in regard to refrigeration beyond the general principals. What you are describing would suggest the defrost element itself having developed an earth fault, so that would be the place to start – get it meggered for leakage. It’s usually on the back panel somewhere, occasionally behind the evaporator, which can be a bit awkward.

    Power off when investigating.

A WM52 perhaps? Motor brushes will have worn out. You’ll need a pair of these:

    You’ll need one of these:

So not particularly expensive – an engineer will charge for an hours work, so check that out when you make the appointment. Click the link below for a local engineer.

Power off if you wish to do this yourself.

Had one do this last week – drain and circ pump pulsing at random. Reset stopped it, soon as you programmed it, off again.

Yup, interlock function works from control board, so most likely candidate.

Re: Hoover Quattro Whisper 1300 washing machine

It won’t spin with the water in. Drop drain hose into bucket or washing up bowl to drain. There is normally a filter under the kickboard at the bottom which can be removed allowing the foreign object to be extracted.

Without the model number it is difficult to be more exact.

Presumably some kind of leak at the filling point for the drawer – could be a simple alignment problem. It’s worth popping the lid off and having a look. Power off if making any adjustment, or click the link below for pro help.

Will someone who can moderate the Related Trade forum please delete his post from “Part P”. Gratuitously rude. I have PM’d him about it.
