Re: ‘Xeros’ washing machine – beads & waterless!

It’s not a consumer machine – it’s a commercial appliance if it ever gets to the market. Dry cleaners “vac off” laundry as part of the process, so that bit won’t change at least.

Re: Hotpoint WD72 filling with water when off

Turn off ONE of the fill hoses. If the filling stops, the valve on the stopped hose is the leaker. If the filling continues, the one that isn’t turned off is the leaker. Simples.

Water valves to fit your machine are HERE.

Brush motor? Surprisingly low – anywhere around 5 ohms through field and armature is typical – tacho circuit is usually rather higher.

No specific brand named or mentioned, Lee. Common sense should dictate that any major power using appliance should not be left unsupervised for any length ot time. Being professionals, we all turn the water off and unplug our major appliances before going on holiday, don’t we?

Continuous flashing is F1 – ntc sensor. You’ll need THIS CHAPPIE. It’s sticking up in the sump and is a twist fit from underneath.

    Power off first.

Around 25 ohms is about right. They work or they dont, BTW – no half measures.

    Replacement elements are HERE.

Possibly just blocked, but unusual with these machines. If the ‘orrible black and grey thing is in the machine, it’s almost certainly knackered. You may may already have the new type pump in there, in which case the start/run capacitor is the culprit.
