If you’ve got the numbers from the old stat, Dave might be able to find it that way?

Sounds very like the Hpt/Creda relay fault – except it’s all on the one PCB.
    Just a thought.

Re: Indesit WE13 Washing Machine Error & Fix Questions

Hmm – how to answer this politely. You’ve obviously had a search around the site to get the info so far. It’s always a main board fault (the big one in the bottom) with these for the F12 fault – it’s telling you that it’s gone wrong, but it doesn’t know what. It is an endemic problem in the UK where these machines are sold as bottom end economy products. A 3 year service life is actually considered quite good 😯 . Given that the machine is second hand (I hope you didn’t pay too much for it), I’d bail out and get something decent. I gather that Bosch and AEG are popular in Oz – they are certainly well regarded over here, so if you have to have a front loader they might be your best option.

Your mate has got the code for you, I’ve told you what to look for. If you need to re-check, it goes like this:

Hold down “Wash Temp Down”, then “Power”. Press “Spin” until “Hold” and “Slow Spin” are lit. The progress board will illuminate to show the last fault. It’s a binary code – Lit = 1, off = 0; count goes 1, 2, 4, 8 etc – read from left to right. Bear in mind that the machine will remember this code for up to 8 washes.

    Good luck,

Hoover TV series wasn’t it? Splined fan = endemic failure. The one with the olive compression fitting was no better………

We forget about this one because of all the drums falling off the shaft…………

Re: Creda 37764 Fan coming loose

“Spare part fit for purpose” will be the jargon, Mike. Same as all those years ago when the small boss Hoover 1100 drum pulley was made “obsolete”. The suitable repair was an entire drum and back plate assembly. It was “fit for purpose”.

Mal’s comments re the fan are interesting – have a local customer with an Admiral (Maytag) tumble dryer. After the third fan broke on a Friday, a small Jubilee clip pulled it all back together for the weekend. JLA were out of stock for 10 days, and this damn fan kept on going…….. When it turned up, I fitted it and put the clip on the new fan – I have not been back to it since! I assume that any slack on the moulding fitting over a “D” shaft has been taken up, so the starting shock is fully absorbed through the whole fan.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Change in water level not detected in time allowed. This is normally a problem with the water level control system – check hose to level switch is not kinked/trapped/holed. Airbell/collection chamber may be choked with detritus. Possible fault with level switch itself, although unlikely.

    Power off if going inside…….

Almost certainly heater failure – these tubular ones don’t seem to last well. The solenoid on the dispenser will be the reason for the flap not firing.

1115321-10/9 is the heater, around £30 and 1525531-30/5 is the
dispenser assembly, around £27 from memory. VAT + p&p as well.

However, this is a complex appliance, so getting the diagnosis right is important to your wallet, so perhaps time for an engineer? Click the link below

    Power off if investigating.

Start with the pump Nick. Using a test meter, you should get approx 33ohms across the terminals with the wires disconnected. If you get an infinite reading, the pump or its cutout has failed and it must be replaced. The water level switch is unlikely to be at fault as the fault code would only be generated after the water has drained (which it doesn’t). Assuming that the pump has a satisfactory reading, you are looking at a supply problem to the pump – damaged wiring, broken connectors, or no output from the computer board.
