    He’s right you know…….

What you should do is open the front of the machine, undo two bolts and drag the motor out……. Putting the belt back on can be a bit entertaining, but it is by far the simplest (and safest) way.

You’re on the right lines with the heater circuit. Check the heater connectors – so and soes for breaking internally, ditto thermistor connectors. Failing that it’s likely to be the main circuit board itself that’s at fault.

    Power off, of course.

Compactor – hmmm……. Howsabout a video clip of one of those big industrial ones crushing a washer? Then when the umpteenth person posts “My Indesit dial goes round and round” we can post a link……..
Or a trebuchet – there’s a bod down south with a huge trebuchet – fires all sorts of things for people…..

Just a little whimsical thought 😀

There’s a fine line between humour and vulgarity; and the whole thing had gone off topic anyway. Probably best where it is now.

Re: Hotpoint WMA31P makes small holes in garments.

The WMA was probably a beautifully designed piece of kit, until the bean counters got their hands on. Hotpoint insisted in competing in the bottom end of the market, instead of standing their ground in the mid-upper market as some makes do. Consequently, every penny that could be shaved off, was.

    Great shame.

No, in UKW forum. Martin shunted it with the sarky (or was it ironic) post, an hour later it was in General Trade………

Could be switch, could be combi igniter/switch unit – best bet is tell us the model or “85” number, then we can get the diagrams out and work out what’s fitted to you appliance 😀 .

As far as I can work out, any ’96 on stator should fit – these are fitted to machines whose model numbers end in 8 or 9.

A new stator is p/no 426181P – being in England, I can’t advise on prices.
