Re: Hotpoint WD860P Dryer too hot??

If this is a combination washer dryer, shouldn’t there be a plastic outer shield on the door to prevent you actually touching the glass at all? That was the Hotpoint way for many years.

    Re: indesit wie157s

Without being rude about it, you get what you pay for. If you scan back through this forum, you will find countless threads relating to faulty Indesit “W” machines and its Ariston sisters. They are cost engineered down to the lowest possible price, and build quality is shoddy to say the least.

Personally, given that this is the second one that has failed, I would be looking at a different brand. An extra £50 gets you a mid-range Zanussi, an extra £100 puts you into Bosch territory. Hold out for some recompense for all the inconveniencs as well, and you may not have to pay out too much extra at all.

    Good luck,

    Replacement switch is here:

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … cts_id=305

Before spending your money, you need to test the switch – you need a test meter and the skill to use it safely. Guessing can be a very expensive way to repair a machine.

If you’re not sure, check repairs@ or Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.

Power off if you continue to investigate.

Don’t think any of the Whirlpool lads have been on today – they’ll spot this and give you an answer soon enough.
