ParticipantRe: Whirlpool AWG 329 1100 won’t drain
You said that the pump “rotates freely”. It should not. When the impellor is turned by hand, it should “ping” though 90 degrees segments. If the impellor is free, it isn’t attached to the shaft properly.
Next, will water run through the grey drain pipe? Disconnect from sink coupling and try operating the pump into the bucket. If no result, check that the drain hose itself is clear. When the end hangs down from the sink spigot it is a common problem for fat to run into the drain pipe and solidify.
Few more thoughts for you,

Door springs not listed separately I’m afraid Neil – it’s a hinge set for both sides – p/no 169720 @ £31.61 +VAT + P&P.
An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving for you.

ParticipantRe: WM-1465FHD
Certainly should be – you said green spindle – it has got four blades on it as well? With the power off, you’ve got to search right back into that chamber for any obstructions and check that the impellor will turn – it should “ping” round in 90degree movements when turned manually. If it does turn, but won’t run with power, the pump motor will probably have failed.

You’re on the right lines – no drain detected within time allowed. The filter is about 2″ in diameter, and unscrews anticlockwise. Hands, knees and torch, check right back into the pump chamber, make sure that the impellor “pings” round freely.
If you can set spin only, check that the pump is turning before replacing filter. If the machine is coupled to a sink spigot (wrong, but people do it), check that as well.

Safety first is the ONLY way to run the forums. This idiot is not the problem – it’s the people who search through for info in the future who may be the problem. For all we know, he may be 50+, kids left home and electrical experience, but that is not the point – if some spotty 20 year old did what the poster wants us to tell him a few months from now; there’ll be all hell to pay.
Bear in mind that it’s about 13 years since the kid lost an arm with the great Manufacturer Beginning with I Door Lock cock-up, we can’t have it happening again and being directed back to us.

Will it do word groups Dave? Or just single words? If it does word groups, we should be able to deal with it – most of what’s in this damn message is non-grammatical – is anyone going to post “Mortgage payment calculator” as a phrase relevant to an appliance problem, for instance?
Cheers,

ParticipantRe: Is it just me….
Just spent the evening with Dave from Brighouse Domestics (Musket on UKW). We’ve been friends for years. He turned up this evening with his middle finger bandaged and braced….
Turns out he’s got a vacuum cleaner in the cellar, sticks in a new set of brushes and fires it up to make sure it runs. No brackets, motor takes off, without thinking Dave catches it……… Ouch!
I knew there was a reason I didn’t do vacs!

ParticipantRe: smeg slim line dishwasher
If it is steaming, it is activating the heater, therefore it thinks it is already full of water. This indicates a failure in the water level control system.
The other possibility is that the circulation pump is not running; you should be able to hear it humming away after the fill sequence.
Either way, this is likely to be a technical repair, so perhaps a visit to Directories or Reairs@ ?
Power off if investigating further.
