Euphoria at 3pm, manic depression at 6.

There is no truth in the rumour that the current outrage in London was perpetrated by the MCC in order to distract from the abject batting failure, which would otherwise have beem all across the front pages.

    Re: Is it just me….

Did one Monday. Unjammed Logic pump for chatty old lady. Bolted pump back in, set it off – hadn’t put sump hose back on…..

Possibly my finest act of incompetance was an old 10 series Creda washer; replaced drum bearings and seals, fought the tub gasket on, slapped it back onto the drum, bolted everything up and realised that I hadn’t put the pulley back on. Unfortunately, there was no shaft sticking out of the hole in the middle.

Apart from that Phidom, yes, it is just you……. 😀

Magnet and coil on the end of the drive motor. Power off if investigating.

Re: Indesit D63 – loose door seal

The door seal comprises of the rubber strip, which should sit in a channel formed by the detatched metal strip. This was originally spot welded to the cavity. There is no recognised repair (unless you can weld stainless steel), although people have tried securing with tiny self-tappers with varying degrees of success.

How to explain this…. Top deck, big hole in the middle to get at the drum – it’s under there. 🙂

    Re: zannusi error code E90

It’s a good theory. What has most likely happened is that by removing and replacing the connectors the contact surface has had any oxidisation scraped off, thus allowing a better contact.

Expensive electronic circuitry would use gold plating, which does not oxidise in the first place.

    Re: Broken INDESIT evolution 1400 we14 – should I chuck it o

Have you checked the filter as suggested? If it appears empty, with the filter removed, set the machine to spin only and observe whether or not the pump actually runs. If the impellor whirls round, it implies that there is a blockage somewhere else in the system. If it doesn’t, the pump may have failed or not be getting power.

The programme will stop at any spin point in the programme if water is detected in the machine – you can imagine what would happen if it did kick off into spin 😀 .
