ParticipantFrosty,
Bear in mind that Baumatic is not a manufacturer in its own right, so all it’s products are “badged” from other makers. Also, this name was originally established to supply into the far smaller fitted appliance market, so it is slightly surprising that they are entering the free standing market.Having had a look on the Baumatic site, I think we can safely say that the range comprises Merloni built machines; if you have a scan around the site for say “Servis” washers (Which are also a Merloni product) you might get a better impression of what the Public, never mind the Trade think of them!
I think the basic rule of thumb these days is you get what you are prepared to pay for. A better bet for your requirement (1400 rpm/6kg load/silver) would be a Bosch WFR145S, currently under £500 but a far better bet on the longevity and reliability front. Two years warranty as well.
Something to think about,

ParticipantThese doors are usually dismantled by undoing two screws along the bottom edge of the door in the vicinity of the hinges, and the screws going through the top of the door into the back of the handle.
Hot water and elbow grease is about the only practical method for home cleaning, although a wipe with white spirit to finish will help.
Use plenty of sealant, weigh the glass into place and leave ABSOLUTELY UNDISTURBED for 24 hours.
Good luck,

ParticipantRe: £179 For A Zanussi Washer!
Small comfort for you Ken, it’s only Comet doing that one.
That said, their cheapest machine is a 1000 Beko at £160. Oddly, the cheapest Servis is £230! Who’s fooling who here?
Curry’s are doing the 1500 Servis for £179, so we’d better brace ourselves for bearings and modules in about nine months time……
Miller Brothers have the Beko at £169, an Indesit under £200 and a 1000 Servis for £180.
Apart from the confused signals at the bottom of the market, the only plus as far as I can see is that these all appear to be plus delivery.
Cheers,

ParticipantI think it’s stat reference B1-6169 – Dave Conway should be ableto source one for you.

[Passsword hijack by Mrs. P again…]
Martin, I am HERRING you right? This sounds like SHARK practice to me. Besides, he has such a WHALE of a time on here that it would be far to BASS of me to stop him, even if it does mean I put my life and health at risk entering the blasck hole of Calcutta tiwce a day to ensure clean clothes for my family of little SPRATS.
So there.

ParticipantRe: Bouncing Washers!
What we need here is something with a slow, progressive ramp into spin. Something like Bosch or its integrated derivatives perhaps? Some of you have been speaking highly of the CDA range of integrated machines of late – I’m not very familiar with them myself – would they fit the bill?

ParticipantPeacock, you anorack – its New Years morning – you’re supposed to be sloshed, not messing about with dishwashers…….
Anyway, it’s a Whirlpool based appliance, so there should be a loop catch on the body and a “turnover latch” in the top of the door.
You haven’t actually told us what the problem is by the way……..
Get back to us in the morning?
Happy New Year,

ParticipantWe can do it – I have a dream and so do many of you. Together we can change this industry for the better.
Good health Ken, and everybody.
Lets do it!

ParticipantAssuming that this post relates to your earlier post in this forum, the wash thermostat is located in a plastic holder on the elbow of the hose from the sump to the circulation pump, under the machine. It is unlikely to give the sympton described earlier as it is 65c normally open. Stat failure would lead to an overheat condition.
Anyway, part number is 4819 282 48198 at around £10 + VAT + p&p
I should point out that this range of dishwashers were notorious for breaking the wiring loom in the door at the pivot point.
Do nothing without pulling the plug first. :plug:
If you are not confident in your abilities, get professional help. You can either pop your postcode up in here, or check the Directories section for a UKW engineer in your area.

ParticipantMartin,
If it’s the neutral switch through the timer that’s failed it should be stone dead, shouldn’t it? From your description above I assume that the motor is running? They also list 1702245 “Trouble Shooting Guide” for this machine – worth checking out?
Cheers,

ParticipantIs it worth checking logs to see if they’re still reading? That would show interest level if not actual participation.

ParticipantMr Watt,
Why are you being so cruel to that nice Mr Heath. After all this years problems and indignities he is now faced with the ultimate humiliation – washing up.Surely a nice integrated Ignis is what is required……….. :rotl:

ParticipantSarah,
Don’t panic, there are any number of good refrigeration bods on UKW who can offer some advice, or service if required; certainly at considerably less than £200/hr. 🙄The only problem at the moment is the holiday season, not everyone is about or working. If you could pop up your postcode, a local member should be able to advise you.
