    Diamondpack,
Pull the plug, remove the lower rear cover plate and undo the clamp band on the black hose under the drum. Pull the hose off and empty the filter within. It is possible that a small object can get through the filter into the pump itself, in which case you will need to remove the pump and take the cover off to find the foreign body. If the machine is still full of water, drop the drain hose down into a washing up bowl to drain the machine by gravity first. It’s possible that the pump has failed if it still won’t drain, in which case you’ll need one of THESE.

Yup. Unfortunately, the prime exploding culprit is the circulation motor. The combined cost of replacing the two will cost more than the dishwasher when it was new……

    Sorry,

    Spectrum is green………

The release mechanism is refered to as a wax motor; it is in fact a PTC device (positive thermal co-efficient). Over time, the ptc breaks down and will ultimately short circuit. If it has done it once, it will do it again I’m afraid.

You could try replacing the motor first, as you may get away with it – p/no 166635 actuator, about a tenner last time I checked. The pcb is obviously rather more expensive!

Cornfield17 is just a retail troll hoping to get an admission he could wave at a retailer about known issues/endemic faults etc. Hammertime is a BSH engineer – should have applied for trade access by now?

That Whirlpool fridge-board-fix-thread was a bit unfortunate – Chezza stirred things up somewhat. It’s one of the few really useful threads running in the public forums – it would be a pity if Brodders throws his toys out of the pram.

Sorry, Ozzy1 – I’m not a gas engineer, so can’t advise you. It’s a bit pot luck which Oz engineers pop in, so I can only suggest patience.

The replacement bearing in the shaft kit is phosphour bronze and is therefore conductive, rendering the copper wiper unneccessary. It is no longer fitted to current production machines.

Door latch mechanism in the closed position can cause this.

Lifting the microswitch activates the anti-flood mode – the 3 l/h lamps flashing is that code. If the breaker popped, it’s entirely possible that whatever shorted has wiped out the pcb. It happens regularly on these Chinese machines.

CI993 is a Siltal. The elctronic board is just for the motor, all other functions through the elctro-mechanical timer.

Nope, no adjustments – just buy THIS.

    Power off first, of course.
