    I have had a few where the internal parts of the selector knob have failed. It is available as a spare part, around £8 IIRC. Bearing kit is available HERE.

    Stop and think about what Iadom said – the heater has failed because it has been physically cut by the front edge of the drum. You need to investigate the cause properly, before spending on a new heater.
