Possibly one of the very early Siltal machines. I have a distant memory of Ariston and New World taking it as well – there is a rating label on the back……..

If you take the zero out of the model number, you can download the user-folding-leaflet-fingy on http://www.bshappliancecare.com.

Wool programme is deep fill for wash, so faulty flood protection on p/sw perhaps?

Yes. The water level control system will almost certainly be choked, causing the machine to underfill. Power off, lean the machine back to a good angle and look for the hose connecting the drum to the pump. Coming off the side of it is a plastic airbell. Remove it and clean it out, clear the spigot on the hose which it it fits into.

The heater is an immersion type, if it runs dry, it will break down to earth very quickly.

NTC thermistor – the hotter it gets, the lower the resistance. This is used by the pcb to interpret temperature. Readings are typically in kOhms.

Re: MW051 Phase 2 Water valves and no spin-error 16

I haven’t got a code 16 either 🙁 . 136 is the motor stall error, it can’t get started. Check that the drum does actually turn freely as a starting point.

Assuming that it does, check the wiring into the motor for chaffing, corrosion and dampness. Similarly, the RPS. Use a multimeter to check for continuity through the motor and its three windings.

If all that checks out, the motor controller is likely to be to blame.

However – it’s always worth checking the lid and out of balance switches for function and corrosion as well.

Don’t worry about the cracks….. Yup, RPS is likely candidate, but check the lid switch and out of balance switch for corrosion issues first – bit cheaper to replace!

You have a big problem……. Ozzie washer in Oxford. As far as I can tell, there are only limited spares available left in Oz and I can’t find a drum support showing anywhere. The bearings and water seal you could probably source from any competent transmission specialist as they will be “generic” components, but not the drum support.

The ISE5 and 10 machines are both excellent products. The 5 is a solid, reliable, quiet family washer; the 10 is almost an industrial standard laundry machine. Both are AAA rated with excellent warranties in their class. Service through your local sales agent, so no bl@@dy call centres, is a good incentive as well!

As an ISE agent myself, I will admit to being biased, but I sell the machines steadily with few problems and have over 300 happy customers to date. People like the personal service angle and the slightly different ethos of the ISE concept.

If you’ve swapped the capacitor and have continuity through the motor, it more or less has to be the PTC start device – 187156.

    It’s an SGS53A02gb/27, btw.

Fan oven element is far and away the most likely culprit…… This chappie HERE. Article on the evil doings of fan oven elements can be found HERE.

Stay safe, power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

    Re: creda oven wiring diagram?

You can’t have a wiring diagram – Forum Rules apply.

If you wish to stay alive, turn the power off. There is absolutely no requirement to live test if you have a test meter.

Double switch on the front of the thermostat turns the circulation fan. I *think* the second pair run the cooling fan, from memory. If the thermostat cycles with heat, don’t worry about it until you’ve replaced the element. To determine accuracy is extraordinarily difficult – an infrared remote thermostat and a lot of patience will give you a reasonable idea, but it’s a lot of money to invest in an elderly oven.

    Stay safe, power off.

Reading your initial post, you seem to have evaluated the other options, so the flow meter/water matrix is about all that’s left. I can’t tell you with absolute certainty without getting “hands on”, so it’s your call.

Fitting is pretty straight forward after you release the vent surround on the inside of the cavity. It’ll lift away after you release the hoses.

Stay safe, power off first, of course.
