Far more likely that the fan oven element has met its maker in firey fashion…..

Power off, remove inner rear panel to inspect. Replacement one is HERE.

Scorching up the back is usually congealed grease which has escaped.

If the contact pads are nice and clean and you’ve got continuity to the pcb, the flow meter itself may well be faulty. The water wheel contains a magnet, which is moving past a reed switch on the little pcb. This is not a spare part – only the assembly is available – HERE.

That said, there are several threads where people have sourced reed switches from the likes of Maplins or Radiospares with success.

It is a real pig to change…….

Remove plug, control panel and metal support frame behind. Soap box can now be moved and its lid popped off. This will allow you to access the locking insert in the top of the hose. Hoik it out, push the soaphose off and put the drawer to one side. You should then just about have room to get a screwdriver to the clamp band on the tub end of the hose.

    Re-assembly is the reverse procedure.

41006831 is the element. It goes straight up the back of the upper spray arm feed pipe.

    Re: Ignis oven door seals

    Interesting point…….

There is a marked temperature differential between the inner and outer glasses of the door, so I suppose there must be condensation forming as a result. A three sided seal being open at the bottom is presumably acting as an air intake for cool air (the oven has a hot air vent at the rear) to circulate, a proportion of the hot air venting at the rear.

Re: CREDA T601CW dryer no heat

Purely electro-mechanical control on this one. There is a countdown timer in the control panel, there is a separate motor reversing timer in the floor of the timer. It allows extended running with heat in one direction, and a short reverse period without heat.

Check that the machine does actually reverse as a starting point. If it does, the timer motor is working. If it doesn’t, it may have failed in the reverse position = no heat. Either timer can be the fault, as the heater circuit is routed through both. The top one turns the heat off with 10 minutes to go, the bottom every time the machine does the short reverse. It’s a real s@d to get at as well……

Stay safe, power off when working on the machine.

    You again……! 😀

Power off, soap drawer out. Remove spring band from front lip of door seal and un-peel the seal. Release door interlock – two screws. Undo two screws at bottom of front panel and the one in the bottom of the soap drawer. The front panel can now be removed by pulling out and down, thus revealing the pump. Undo the bottom hose at the pump end and you should be able to get at what ever is jamming the filter.

Re: How does a machine ACTUALLY detect an out of balance loa

Basically, speed variation against fixed vaules programmed in. Wash speed doesn’t matter (50-60 rpm), but the OOB system is usually rigged for the “distribute” phase prior to spin. This is where the drum picks up enough speed to stick the load to the drum, rather than letting it tumble. Typically 80-90 rpm. A significantly offset load will require an increase of power to lift it at the required speed, but when it goes over the top and starts to come down, it is trying to accelerate under its own weight and there are no brakes……. The tacho generator on the end of the motor is signally back the speed variations to the pcb, which is in turn comparing them with its programming and trying to adjust accordingly. The distribute sequence may well stop and a period of slow tumbling take place, to try and re distribute the load in the drum, before trying again. If it’s too far out, the spin sequence may be aborted all together.

Similarly, a “run away” motor due to a defect in the tacho circuit or triac switching circuits will be read as an inappropriate response by the pcb and the motor will be sgut down completely.

This is going way over our heads. If the pcb’s faulty, we replace it and I’m afraid you pay.

Heh – that’s why MrsP usually deals with the phone calls – far more tact than I have.

We did recently go back to a pump replacement (After three lots of coin blockages finally trashed it….) and left a bill for 1/2 hour (Key under doormat job). Customer rang in to complain and Julia finally said “Which bit of ’empty your pockets’ is causing the problem?” Cheque appeared the next day.

From the pnc number, the current p/no is 3871425-10/8. email to Dvae on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk with that number will get things sorted for you.

Just as an example of how complex this can get, the original part number was:
