Maybe because some people were spiriting away deserts to their rooms… 😉

    K.

Yes, I noticed that some people used to do that as well… :rolls:

If you can’t count past six Bryan how do you manage to get the correct weight of refrigerant into a fridge?

Precisely! In the olden days (12 months ago and before) the dessert selection was on display where the salads are now. You could help yourself to as many helpings of cheesecake, black forest and other gateaux, fruit salad, etc., as you liked, which some people liked to do. It was also not unknown for people to take a couple of glasses of chocolate mousse back to their rooms for a midnight feast. 😯

But for some inexplicable reason the desserts are now hidden away and you have to order them from the waitress….. 🙁

thanks for filling me in on the important details and glossing over trivial work related stuff!

I seem to detect a hint of irony there Mark. I was filling you in on the important details. As Ken so rightly says above, what’s important to one person isn’t to another. At the stage I’m at in my working life the buffet with its multiplicity of deserts is the main reason I go 😀 ; I can’t remember much about what was discussed a couple of hours after we’ve discussed it :rolls: .

Other than that it was, as usual, really good; the WTA team put in a lot of work as they always do.

    Thanks,

I asked the guy on the phone if Daniel Waterhouse was still involved. He said that he wasn’t; the director’s name is Beverley. He didn’t know her surname as he was new.

They phoned me again on Thursday asking me to do a job for them, so I said ‘yes’ but they’d have to pay up-front. They weren’t prepared to do that, for some reason….

“I cant believe your even considering doing work for them Roly16.”

He caught me unawares at lunch time on Saturday and was very plausible, so I told him I’d think about it. I didn’t consider it for very long.

It still might be interesting if somebody agrees to do one of their jobs on a pay-up-front basis to see what happens.

    Re: Servicenet

They phoned me again on Saturday asking me to go to an American fridge freezer, after I’d already cancelled doing one job for them. They asked me the reason why I wouldn’t accept the job so I brought up the matter of all the adverse experience reported on the site. They said they were aware of that as a number of engineers had mentioned it, and assured me that they have changed hands and were absolutely no longer connected with Go Local. I said I’d think about it over the weekend, and speak to them on Monday, but when my mobile got washed in the washing machine yesterday morning, ServiceNet wasn’t exactly my top priority, and I didn’t.

What I should have suggested, but didn’t think of it till afterwards, was that they pay for the call up-front and then I’d do it.

Perhaps the next person to get a call from them could suggest that and report back to us on the outcome….

Well, I certainly won’t be avoiding shorts, when summer arrives that is….why change the habits of a lifetime?

Somwhow I don’t think ServiceNet will be offering me any more work. I’m waiting to find out if my customer gets his £79 back.

    Re: Servicenet

No, sorry to disappoint you Jim, and all the ladies who only go to the Coventry meetings to see them, but I’ve only worn shorts for about three or four days so far this year for obvious reasons. I’m still wearing my woolly hat most days….
