There is usually a wiring diagram behind the facia. I think the timer motor still runs with the door open, so could be the door switch?

The pcb in the facia is a Temperature Control Board. I think it is only used while filling for a warm wash. It will alternate the water valves to give a warm wash.

The reversing switches are inside the timer, if one is faulty it could cause the symptons you describe. If the gearbox is OK, and you have tried a new motor, there isn’t much else in these machines.

    Re: Candy oven door seal

I would say that is it. The old one was completely perished on the bottom edge and hanging off, so It may not have been complete on all 4 sides. You said earlier it was available from yourself, so let mr know
    Thanks

    Re: Candy oven door seal

    Hello Bryan

The old seal was on the cabinet, just like a usual one, with the hooks in the corners, only it was quit thin. Not sure I know the meaning of the term ‘Pyro Oven’. Maybe its a modification, and the one you found would fit.

This is the kind of job which is costing me far too much time, but hay ho

    Thanks for your efforts

    Martin

I have had the oven out. No stickers or numbers, apart from the one on the front edge which is totally unreadable

This is the oven in question. I wasn’t there at 9.35pm, the clock is wrong.

Did you get to the bottom of this?

I had exactly the same problem on a WMPF843, but I had no replies to my post.

The customer ended up chucking the machine on a skip, so I never resolved it. It would be interesting to know if you cured it

    Re: Advice required

    I don’t agree

Just because you think a repair is uneconomical it doen’t mean the customer thinks the same. It also doesn’t absolve you of any responsibility or to give a warranty on the repair. If you have misdiagnosed the problem, then hold up you hands and give the customer a refund. Or try a sell a new machine.

    Re: what to charge?

I think it depends on at what price they sell the machines for.

For them to make a profit, and for you to make a profit of say at least £40 ( to do a proper job of reconing and testing a machine will take at least an hour ) it doesn’t sound like a money maker.

    Just my opinion
