Thanks for that. I did blow down it and it seemed clear, but I’ll recheck it

If you are sure its not the button, try turning the selector back and forth a few dozen times while spraying in some switch cleaner. It has worked for me a few times

    Re: new heater fitted help!

I have fitted a few of these elements, and have never done the complete service test cycle to reset the control board. I don’t think it is needed. Just do your usual tests. Job done

Re: Whirlpool 3rlsq8033 W/M Drive Block

    Thanks John

And fun is what I had

The best way to learn is the hard way. On my 1st visit to this machine I found a large gap under the agitator and the customer complaining of no spin. It seemed to me that the agi drive shaft was coming out of the gearbox and lifting the agi up. So I quoted for a new gearbox. After fitting a new one, the gap remained.

On further inspection I found that the drive block was broken which caused the inner basket to drop down, which created the gap and made the basket catch, which caused it not to spin.

So I replaced the drive block, refitted the old gearbox and all is well. Phew !

I was just thinking. If when a retailer sells this machine and tips it on a sack barrow, would this cause this fault from day one ??

Re: whirlpool awod4505 cant get up to speed

If it spins when empty of clothes, then it is probably the out of balance detection circuit stopping it from picking up speed. It may sound daft, but I have cured this sort of fault by just fitting a new belt

If you replaced the terminal block, and only half the rings work, I would check that the links in the t/block are in there correct position ??

I have been using just a standard iron. I will follow your suggestion and get one of these

    Yes

Every time I try to remove one the heat from the soldering iron breaks it, and my solder sucker seems hoplessly too big. I suppose I need more practise

    Thanks for your reply

I told them no, and the guy started chucking his dummies out of his pram. In the end I had to hang up on him

Re: Help, oven I supplied, she wants a refund

As long as you are sure that are in no way to blame, then the customer has no come back. However cant you just take it back and sell it to someone else?

I had a similar situation that a built-in zanussi oven I supplied was 3cm too deep, and wouldnt push back far enough. I phoned my trade supplier (Hughes Trade of Norwich) and they were willing to take it back, even if it was unpacked, and charge me a restocking fee of 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. I told my customer he would have to pay the fee, which he agreed. So it turned out OK for me
