    Re: Smoke coming from microwave.

The old ST40 ovens were bad for the insulation breaking down in the HV transformer (used to carry a few Daewoo transformers on the car). The smoke appears thick & fast and absolutely stinks. As Martin says give it a quick try, lots of smoke/no flames/sparking = HV transformer.

    Hi Tell,
part number is Haire 012G2140061 or you could use one of the universal drain hoses from Qualtex.

Er, if that’s the drain hose hanging down there, I predict a slight problem with self syphonage!!!
Also think this customer has heard too many stories of service engineers taking a waz in the soap drawer when they get caught short!

Re: Jailed for putting cat in drier

Can’t get the video to play, but I assume someone trying to dry a wet cat in a tumble dryer. Will have to take a long hard look at the instruction book, can’t remember seeing “do not dry your pets in it”. Where there’s blame there’s a claim.

    Re: Hotpoint WML560 tripping out.

Someone on here must have access to indesit servicenet, yes I was on the right track was a bit of an issue with WML560, it was initially blamed on carbon dust around brushes/comm. Have changed motors before and just bounced, the new software file did cure the bouncers.

Think there is a modified software download for that issue and believe it or not it cures the problem if I am thinking of the right model.

Re: COST OF CALL DIVERT TO MOBILE

Yip bagman, you need the patience of a saint in this job just to listen to the ramblings of the customers, – yawn. Used call divert for the first time today, 4 calls = solar panels, PIP, van insurance & some foreign gentleman in a call centre whos first language certainly was not english!!! So thats the kind of c**p calls I’ve been missing! Got rid of them all quick, said call had been diverted to mobile and that I was driving. Must try that when at home as well.

You can buy sheets of mica waveguide cover that you cut to size/shape yourself. Think I saw Qualtex or Maddocks selling it.

Re: COST OF CALL DIVERT TO MOBILE

Just ordered “call diversion” from bt, costs £3.15 a month + cost of diverted calls. Will have to keep an eye on the bills as I think you can’t tell if diverted call or not. Best plan, keep it short and sweet, just say I will phone back using free minutes.
