Legally, yes, because you accepted delivery, and morally, yes, because you used it.

Electrolux themselves make no energy saving clains for these balls, merely:

“These dryerballs use the specially designed nodes to physically break down the stiffness created by water drying in fabric, thus softening laundry without the introduction of toxic chemicals.”

Perhaps the Intellipanel turns off appliances left on standby – have heard of devices like this before

Full explanation of the data adjstments here – needed to ensure apples are compared with apples when weather stations moved. Nothing sinister I would suggest.

Re: Updated labour charges from the Indesit Company.

I suspect these fixed price repair prices will continue to excalate, as each time they raise the prices, fewer customers will find them attractive, except where they perceive the fault to be expensive. This in turn will drive down completion rates, increasing the average cost of the repair, so prices will have to rise again to cover costs.

Scandalous! I’ve reported to eBay as it breaches their listing policies. They only allow goods to be sold, not services.

Came across exact same fault today on same model. I guess board still has dryer relay, just not programmed to use it?

Re: What’s happend to the specialist?

Single brand dishwasher repair wouldn’t make too much sense. Lets take the example of a Hotpoint dishwasher specialist.

Up to about 10 years ago, Hotpoint made their own dishwashers using mainly Bosch components. Then, after closing their production line in the UK, they have rebranded German-made Bosch, French-made Brandt, Spanish made Fagor, Italian-made Smeg and finally Italian-made Indesit dishwashers as their own.

So the Hotpoint dishwasher specialist could readily transfer knowledge to these other European brands, as well as the equivalent Creda, Ariston, Siemens, Neff, Hygena, Diplomat, Belling and Teka machines (and probably more). That leaves Miele, Whirlpool, Zanussi, Beko, Asko, Servis, Candy and their related brands.

The Hotpoint dishwasher specialist would probably already have enough knowledge to service dishwashers produced by nearly half the factories in Europe, quite apart from the many Chinese Indesit dishwasher clones.

Oh no – looks like Electrolux will have to recall these machines! – Access to live parts with light finger pressure only!

Does anyone know whether the latest heat pump tumble dryers use flammable refrigerant also?

I’m not involved at all with refrigeration, but am curious none the less to find out about the common refrigerants in use. R600a, R134, etc, are a complete mystery to me. Can anyone point to an idiot’s guide, please?

Do you mean Cookworks? Got a feeling that is an Argos own brand.

Re: Zanussi/AEG tumble dryer belt tension pulley clips

Thanks Chris and Steve for reassurance – fitted belt on edge of pulley wheel, started dryer with side panel off and witnessed pulley being centred – no clip needed!

Re: Zanussi/AEG tumble dryer belt tension pulley clips

So a circlip is not needed? Will the belt, itself located in the drive shaft splines, automatically centre the pulley wheel on itself?

Clever stuff, but don’t Zanussi fit clips anyway? There is a groove at the end of the shaft to take one. I can’t believe that I’ve not noticed before.
