    Jess1ca.

I suspect most of those good old Zanussi Agents have died, sold up or just as likely gone bust.

Guess they must have been the template of running professional service agencies way back when.

Not only British Gas, they seem to be courting favour with Electrolux as well.

They are the appointed Service Force approved repairers for Aberdeen, Bournemouth and Andover/Fleet in Hampshire. If the original agents for the areas have fallen by the wayside then how can JTM be expected to do it for the same money. Rhetorical question I suspect.

    Did you know about this….

    Dear Service Provider,

    Re: BSH Home Appliances

You will be aware of the work BSH has been undertaking in contacting customers with dishwashers manufactured during a certain time period and offering a free of charge module replacement.

BSH have asked Repaircare to provide additional support to the work being done by their service team.

From Tuesday 2nd April we will start loading pre-book calls for Thursday 4th April for Repaircare SPs to visit and change a module which is situated in the door. This process will continue on a daily basis for as long as BSH require our services.

Just visited their website. Very good and highly professional.

First line says they are DASA agents.

Carried out a bit more research & the head honcho is David Wilde, a very high profile DASA man. I seem to recall he popped up at a meeting somewhere extolling the virtues of DASA, so I must assume whatever new initiative they are proposing happens to be open to the dozen or so DASA members as well.

    Would imagine not a “fly-by-night”.

BMW…. Where the hell have you been, try a Porsche or Ferrari perhaps!

Yes Connect have raised the amount of the remaining calls they get from the old Coverplan Dixons Financial services account, but it isn’t a great deal.

Seems like the agents are now noticing the drop in workload due to the passing of this work. I gather the Comet contract has some numbers, but not the volume. There again, if you lose money per call on a contract, the more calls you undertake, the more money you will lose.

As already been said, some areas where there is little or no cover, Connect are still in there. If the Know-how operation goes pear shaped I trust Connect are man enough to Demand a fair and sensible rate if dixons come back cap in hand.

Well done all those on the WTA. Some stirling work there.

Just wondering, are the DASA members getting the same support etc? After all the membership fees are considerably higher.

I appreciate that DASA is no part of UKW and that the WTA only shares some DNA with UKW. However I sincerly hope the efforts to stabilise things are reflected right across the industry, if DASA has not thrown their hat into the ring, it may make the WTA look rather radical and perhaps even give the impression that those who are represented by DASA don’t share the problem.

A problem shared is a problem halved.

If by the way this looks like it is off topic, feel free among the moderators to place where appropriate.

    Absolutely totally no way.

Mind you I’m happy if there are those that think I might be.

If you look on here there are quite few that appear to write in the same manner as K.Watt, but I seriously doubt if any of them are he.

Can we keep this on subject please.

    Re: The Enhanced Job Process

Bearing in mind the low rates as paid by Connect, perhaps some of their repairers in Connect’s mind don’t reach desired professional levels simply because they cannot afford to maintain the image on the derisory rates.

Peanuts & monkeys spring to mind.

But! There are plenty of agents on their books who primarily work for manufacturers and insurers who already enjoy a good image, but also are paid the right money. I wonder if some on the network when they saw the money drop in 2010 decided to “Dress Down”

It is an insult to receive such demands, after all we are professionals, and probably maintain better standards than the “reward” on the Connect account allows.

Also, what is this work likely to be? The manufacturers work will surely go back in house? Have a suspicion this is simply spin to up the image in case they manage to land some proper work. I would not get too excited on the prospect of loads of quality calls thanks to this, it will be bottom end rubbish stuff, no back-up, and it is temporary!

    Re: repaircare CDSL Dumping Agents

I assume they gave you notice and cited a reason etc.

Did they give Dave Parker the onerous task of telling you they have switched you off? After all he was the guy that was in at the beginning of the set-up who talked everyone in and convinced them to join up.

I somehow fancy that Dave probably deferred that task. He is a genuine sincere chap, and I would guess that some of the machinations that are happening within Repaircare are not in his full agreement.

Rumour has it that not only the agents were kept in the dark re the loss of the DSG work, so was he. Probably because he has principles and the people behind the Repaircare operation is aware he has a bit of respect.

Just out of interest, who else has been given the chop?

Strange that so many of us knew before they did? Or at least admitted to it!

Rumour has it one senior member of Connect found out over a month ago when we was told by a couple of his agents.

Perhaps in the future they ought to consider telling their faithful agents, as well as staff, what is going on instead of them finding out through the gapevine.

I feel for those that stuck with it when the rates dropped in June 2010. They have taken the hit with all the false promises, and in the end the outcome was more or less the same.

Time to move on and say good riddance to the work and surrounding issues.

I beleive there are some who simply don’t get it.

All I will say is Denial is not only a river that flows out of Egypt.

Connect agents need to prepare themselves for the inevitable.

There was a thing going on with Baumatic but it was explained to me that it was something to do with factory claims. Basically, when a fault level goes beyond a certain level the brand owner can claim the costs or a proportion of the costs back from factory.

I am told this has been resolved.

This may have led to incorrect conclusions being drawn by some people in respect to claims. K.

What brought that about was the high level of unconventional faults such as “Wire off pump” or “Free jammed pump” JTM were allowed to put the truth on jobs back to Baumatic, but the agents waffled the facts as they were scared they would not get paid.

Baumatic sent the wrong message back to the factories, then blamed JTM for spurious information.

There is a bit more to this story though, and it involves a possible liason with another repair organisation. It just may be that certain persons if the face fits may just land on their feet. Watch this space!

Oh they do know, and have done for some time. What they are not doing though is admitting to it.

That posting for KNOW-HOW vacancies really proves the point. Then if you go to the Know-How site, there is a link for their spare parts division.

It is all cut and dried.

Incidentally nobody came back as regards my posting on any announcement from Mr Parker or his colleague, so I take it they kept their heads down?
