Normally I would say the capacitor but I have the same model and it’s not the cap. Tested it and tried a new cap but no go. When I press Start I hear a “click” and that’s all.

Re: F&P GW709AU – lift lid while spinning blows fuse!

Aahhh! Penguin45 to the rescue again. Thanks mate. 🙂

Thanks for your explanation on the brake operation. I’ll check those things out.

In regard to why would I want to open the lid while spinning, there are a few reasons:-

    – To check the proper functioning of the motor brake system – which is really a safety feature – particularly following replacement of modules, motor parts, pump, etc.
    – When the load is out-of-balance (machine vibrating & banging) but not enough to trip the OOB switch.
    – A variety of accidental things such as a blocked drain hose, drain hose fallen out of sink & flooding the floor, blocked laundry sink overflowing, etc.

    Regards. 😀

Re: F&P board housings – different colours=different pha

Hey! Good to hear from you Penguin45. 😀

Thanks for that info mate. On the point of “interchangebility of the boards”, I have always gone with “as long as you use matching coloured motor controller and control panel modules” it’s ok. Am I incorrect with that assumption?

Oh, got a quick one for you. I have a 6kg machine (blue modules) where, when you start your wash, the HOT valve comes on for only 5 seconds then off and beeps continously. No problems with using COLD only. Have swapped over known working HOT valves but still same problem. Maybe a triac?

    Regards. 😀

LOL!! I thought you would like my request!

Of course you were correct, it was a triac. replaced it with another an it’s working fine.

Tell me something please, what is error 16?? I cannot find it listed or mentioned in any F&P documentation.

    Thanx,

    Mark

    Hiya Penuin45!

    Thanx for replying so fast.

Any chance you could tell me what the board component number is for the triac please so I can test and replace it? 😯

    Thanx mate. 😀

There is a company in Melbourne who do nothing but repair F&P Modules and they seem to be very good at it. If Penguin45 okays the giving of company names on this forum, I will give it to you.

    Re: F&P AW095AU – Dead!?

Had a closer look at the motor controller board and found that the small button type 2A fuse is blown. I’m currently looking at how I can fit an inline fuse holder (automotive type) with a wire each end soldered to teh board in its place so it will be easier to replace fuses.
