Your machine apparently has the Twindos detergent system. It could be that which is leaking.

Supposedly, the peristaltic pumps and their pliable hoses can clog/rupture, causing the detergents to leak. The Twindos tank 2 detergent in particular (oxygen bleach) can cause rusting through the floor of the machine, and damage your kitchen flooring.

The first eleven minutes of this video might make some sense:

Re: Siemens Dishwasher Hydrosensor – no heat

Perhaps the reason for non heating is that the transfer tube linking the water matrix to the sump is clogged with greasy gunk?

Clogs might cause water levels to be misread, leading to ‘no heat’.

According to Siemens’ exploded diagrams, this machine does indeed have the problematic transfer tube.

When I tried to remove that cover screw on my machine, the tip of my Stanley screwdriver snapped clean off. I read on the internet, that someone else had the same trouble.

Some folk, apparently, have successfully removed it with an ‘impact driver’.

It is a daft set up – and I was daft to buy that washing machine in the first place.

Re: Is this mould problem beyond repair?

I would forget about Milton fluid, it isn’t aggressive enough.

You need to use a far stronger bleach, such as Domestos. Domestos contains a detergent alongside the bleach, to improve the cleaning efficiency. Unilever also do a Domestos trigger-spray version, containing chlorine bleach. Other brands may be available, but you’re looking for chlorine based bleach in the ingredients, as well as the built in detergent.

Wear some old clothes and be cautious of getting bleach near your eyes – wear eye protection. ❗

Put on rubber gloves, apply a spot about the size of a 50p coin to a damp Spontex ‘Moppet’ sponge (Tesco usually sells them in standard or thick varieties), vigorously wipe and frequently rinse. Repeat as often as necessary to remove and kill the mould.

Remember to scrub the ceiling of the soap box cavity, preferably with an old toothbrush, and don’t forget the drawer-runner channels, floor, side walls and back of the soap box. Also clean the bottom inside front of the soap box, which is hidden from view, in the area of the drainage hole which leads directly to the tub.

Do exactly the same to the dispenser drawer, paying particular attention to any hidden crevices, fabric conditioner syphon channels and the underside of the drawer.

Then you need to rinse the machine out, using the rinse programme.

Now do a 90°C maintenance wash on the longest cottons programme, using a quality bio POWDER detergent, such as Ariel. Activate “intensive” or “wash plus”, as well as “Extra Rinse”.

Leave the door ajar when finished.

its the consumers responsibilty to check working tolerances
if you werent all too busy buying cheaply imported stuff in the first place, we’d still have a manufacturer in the uk.. who would work with our climate!

this has been discussed at length, and im sick of this not fit for purpose rubbish

the dryer willl work, and will, quite happily in the evironment recommended by the manufaturer

so…. what happens, u march in the store, shouting the odds, and hoover take it back…. try it, in their workshop and it works… hows that not fit for purpose..

what next? having new tyres everytime your car slips on ice?

you really need to see the bigger picture

Oh dear – get out of the wrong side of bed, did we? Hmm?

    What a load of crap!

In the first place, if there was a UK manufacturer worth it’s salt, do you seriously think people would continue to buy junk made in Timbuktu?

Secondly, the machines are likely made in a temperate country (Italy); no doubt fully tested in an Italian environment; probably not fully tested for the full range of UK temperatures, due to companies trying to reduce unnecessary expenditure. This rather leaves the problem at Hoover-Candy’s doorstep.

Thirdly, a consumer who was previously using an old tumble drier in a garage or cold back room, has every right to expect that a modern drier should perform in the same environments.

Fourthly, sales of goods have to be fit for the purpose: namely dry clothes in the UK, and the drier has to work in UK ambient temperatures – irrespective of whether the purchaser lives in Torquay or John O’Groats.

Re: Hoover VHV680F all indicator lights flashing

But Britain is a cool climate; the consumer has a right to expect that a tumble drier sold for use in the UK, should operate in a cool room or garage.

It would probably be beneficial for the purchaser to return the appliance to the shop, stating that the goods are not fit for the purpose for which they were sold.

We have an upright Dyson DC08 vacuum cleaner…

Do you really mean an upright DC07? The DC08 is a cylinder machine.

Anyway, the upright DC07 had problems with clogging of the small cyclones. The dust was supposed to drop down the centre tube of the bin – but it doesn’t. Instead, the fine dust builds up in the top of the cyclone assembly, renderring the small cyclones useless.

You could try using another vacuum cleaner to suck the dirt out of the inner tube of the Dyson bin, along with some knocking against a solid surface. DO NOT use water, as the dirt may form sticky mud, and the cyclones are not easily taken apart on this model (thermosetting glue was used to assemble parts of the cyclone assembly).

It was a silly design – the cyclone design was improved for the DC14, making it easier to clean.

I’m worried about what the – – – error could be – could the engineer have forgotten to connect something? Perhaps the machine isn’t upto the load of three large towels, with it being nearly three years old? Maybe the cold in the kitchen has upset it? Help, lol!

The exact model of the machine, is:- WAS32466GB/10

I think that is your answer.

Modern, fully electronic machines, prefer a reset before selecting a different program – or else they protest.

If you do have to select a different program, it is wise to turn the selector to ‘OFF’ and leave it there for a couple of seconds. Only then should you try to select your desired program.

With reference to the Dyson Contrarotator washer, I had heard that if the contrarotation stops working properly, owners are offered the option to have that function disabled. Apparently there was also a backlog of customers waiting for new drums.

Rather negates the point of having a Dyson in the first place, don’t you think?

    Re: Zanussi FJ1093 Ineffective Spin

First of all, make sure that there is no ‘Slow spin’ button pushed in. This would give poor spin efficiency.

Secondly, maybe the motor carbon brushes are worn; they sometimes allow wash action to carry out okay, but cannot maintain sufficient contact during spinning. This would give poor spin efficiency.

I thought that too; that there is no real physical product, and the website merely ‘proposes’ how the machine will perform.

Are you sure the spray arms can turn freely when the dinner plates are loaded? Give the arms a birl when the baskets are pushed in. See if they knock against the plates.

Upper baskets can sometimes be raised or lowered. Yours might be in the lower position, but it depends if you have a really cheap machine; you might just have the one height level without adjustment.

Try using separate powder (or single-function tablets), rinse-aid and salt.

A reasonable detergent-only tablet is Tesco “Value” tablets; or Lidl’s “W5” tablets. Typically £1.80 for box of 30 tablets. Tested by “Which?”

Cloudy, smeary dishes are usually too much rinse aid. Lidl’s “W5” rinse-aid is okay too, and sold in large bottles.

Don’t use multi-function tablets, they might contribute to your problem of smeary dishes, with their extra rinse-aid.

Turn the rinse-aid level down to “1” or “2”; on cheap machines, this is usually a small screw-like pointer inside the rinse-aid fill lid.

I have a sinking feeling that your Hoover slimline model is of Chinese origin. In that case, avoid using 3/4/5/All/Max-in-One/Quantums. There have been instances of overfoaming detergents short-circuiting Chinese-Origin machines.

Well-known brand detergents such as Finish or Fairy should be acceptable.

“Which?” magazine recently posted their top performing detergents when they did a test on dishwashers.

Finish ‘Max-in-1’ was the leader of the multi-function tablets, followed by Glist ‘Magic Vinegar’.

For detergent-only tablets (you still need to use separate salt and rinse-aid), Tesco’s “Value” tablets and Lidl’s “W5” were singled out; each around £1.80 per box of 30.

DO NOT USE Tesco’s “Naturally Sparkling” Eco-Friendly tablets; they create too much foam that stops the machine from working properly – if at all!

Weren’t Gala at one stage in the dim and distant past, connected to Hotpoint?

Some detergents create a great deal of foam which leads to poor washing, or in some cases, no washing at all, as I have experienced.

Now, I’ll ask again, which detergent are you using?
