Re: Miele T430 – door flys open

Yes they are…..just checked now. An addition to the saga so far is that having tried the machine a few times and the door keep popping open, it then refuses to start at all!!

It is almost as if it has overheated or something because having left it for a while it will now start again and run for 15mins before the door pops open again arrggghhh!!!!!!

I repaired one of these a month or so ago with exactly the same fault & it was the damper motor & not too expensive if I remember rightly

wilf………..You just give the bolts a good wack with a large hammer & a drift (onto the head of torx bolt) Before undoing. If the torx head is u/s I just drill them out.

The drum spiders in my experience seem to suffer from metal fatigue only when liquid detergent is used …..for some strange reason!

Re: Indesit Domed Torx Pulley Bolts

The trick is…..to break the seal give the bolt a decent belt with a hammer I find using a torque wrench to undo them means you wont over do the stress.

Halfords professional torx bits and in fact all there pro range tools come with a lifetime guarantee.

At least if you do manage to break one you can just walk back into halfords & get a replacement. If you keep the plastic holder (With halfords profesional printed on it)
they wil normally accept this in place of your receipt 😉

Re: WMA – can’t get belt on?

    Martin,
can I suggest you take the motor off & refit having checked the brackets & forget the hot water & trying to pre-stretch the belt, you don’t need to!

There must be a reason for you struggling and, it has I am sure, nothing to do with the belt. They are a bugger to get on …..but not that bad. You know what it is like…….you get a pig of a problem and your focus is taken away from logical answers.

You will kick yourself when you find the simple cause! We always do!!

Re: WMA – can’t get belt on?

I always put the belt on , when facing the back of the machine, by putting it over the motor pulley & then ease over the rh side of the drum pulley…..However I found the other day it is much easier if you start it on the left of the drum pulley and ease the pulley clockwise looking from the back of machine.

hat all sounds complete rubbish the way I have written it, but I promise it works and i am com pletely ‘armless 😆

    Re: partscenter

I am certainly sorry to see the demise of parts centre – Sittingbourne, it is ALWAYS sad to hear people are losing there jobs.

I am also a little concerened that there will be even less competition out there. Whilst we all know how easy the connect system is to use, we cannot get away from the fact that whilst there is less competition for our business, prices are only ever likely to go in one direction!

It is however refreshing to see that qualtex seem keen to increase there customer base. On a personal note – I am more than willing to pay a little more for parts IF I am given a decent service.

Next day delivery, should be NEXT DAY irrespective of the weight & size of the package, but hey that is just my opinion? 💡
