    Re: Repaircare…

I’ve posted a reply that to me is quite acurate! And I wont have Mark on the phone complaining about my ‘Abruptness’ over that reply!

BTW, he & Steph are coming to see me towards the end of next week, after another long telephone call yesterday, he said he needed to sit down with me over my 1st October deadline for rejecting DSG work as they don’t want us to part company!

Back to debits, kirk & agie have had debits too! Mine is still un-resolved, although they do now seem to be wanting info etc, but as I said to Steph, it’s toooooo f**king late to investigate, after the desicion to debit has been made and the money deducted!

Another RC Agent has popped his head up and said he wants to come, will speak to him later to arrange & confirm.

I presume this was after him posting that he’s had a £150 debit for compensation, yesterday!!!!!!!!!!

Martin wrote:Where’s the spirit of optimism that you projected even more recently Adrian? That the WTA was going onwards and upwards for the trade to benefit and that you were personally looking forward to another 33 years ‘in the trade?

I don’t exactly know how to reply to that Martin! My comment previous has no bearing on my optimism regarding my future in this trade, or my WTA enthusiasm! But, moving on…

We’re all doing the same job Martin, but in many different ways a! What might suit you, wont suit the next man and so on. But, for people / companies that do contract work as a ‘Majority’ of their business (Be it split into whatever proportions between WP’s), the chargeable work ‘MIGHT’ turn losses and break evens into profit! Take away that chargeable work, imagine the effect on businesses that focus on contract work AND sole traders? It would be huge!

Example, if half out of your 22 customers went to Comet or any other fixed price outfits last week, you’d be affected I think, and not for the better!

Chargeable work is a small pond IMO, it’s a pond that many Independent repairers rely on! And the smaller it gets, the more people will fall away!

    What a tosser!

I’ll be happy to oblige Alex 🙂 Dim problem!

He clearly has no respect for us lot & is definately trying to take topics off focus… Might I suggest, we all ignore the nob! He seems to get kicks out of our anger & that fuels him!

We should just ignore him now, and if his posts then get tooooooo off course or offensive / provocotive (Due to lack of reply), I or someone else will delete them to keep topic on track?

I bit! I tried to ignore it, but I couldn’t! And have ‘Planted the seed’ again about other manufacters & Ins companies picking up the tab, IMO, the more suits that read that, the better as it’s true and might make people think!

Although I wouldn’t bet my next girl on that!

    Re: Trade Honesty

    Hi ben–nevis

I agree with what you say, 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}! Why should Manufacturers / Insurance companies get ripped off? It aint right, it aint clever and only leads to a Business that has to rely on fraudulent claims to continue trading!

However, the point about the gun, and being forced to do the work, I have a different take on that!

Most agents that are with Repaircare, signed up a long time ago. When rates were reasonable and terms were acceptable. Call volumes increase, demands on repairers increase, so the repairer recruits, and / or invests in to growing the Business to maintain a good service level. Wage bills go up, van bills go up, phone bills go up, everything is increased to again, provide & maintain a good level of service, both to the WP and customer. Then……..

We have a recall change, a while ago, from 28day ‘Repair’ guarantee, to 28day ‘Whole Appliance’ guarantee. Ok, so that’s taken on the chin reluctantly by most. Then………

We have the rate drop. (This is where the ‘Gun’ bit gets to me). We are faced with either accepting the DSG rates, or lose ALL Repaircare work. That to me is a kinda gun to head move taking in to account the investment made as per above. That is NOT giving the repairer the choice of doing the work or not in an acceptable manor! That is, forcing repairers to accept the cuts, or decline and make people redundant (Which anyone with half a heart will avoid at ALL costs). I think it is a FACT, (and I ask anyone that disagrees with me here, to speak up) if Repaircare were minus the ‘Prime’ contracts, and was soley DSG, at the new rates, most would have declined the rates.

Now, I chose to speak out, and my view is this, and it’s simple! Lose the ‘Losses’ on this DSG work, and it might, MIGHT be workable for a short period of time (Definately NOT long term), but short term, maybe. The losses include out calls (Loss of income), Whole appliance recalls (Loss of income) and BER rates due to DSG’s time constraints and part shortages (Again, loss of income). BUT ben, by speaking out, people may fear the loss of work, to a 2nd tier agent that’s trying week by week to get your work, or even by someone new, and again, given the investments most people make to ensure the provision of a good service is maintained, this is not an option! So, you maybe now can understand why someone might say ‘Sod it, its only a regas here, a pump there’, it’s not greed, it’s a matter of survival to some!

Fact is ben, although wrong, it does go on. Anyone who says it doesn’t is to be blunt, a bit naive! It isn’t right, especially when other manufacturers / Insurance companies end up paying for DSG rate cuts, but FACT is… If repairers were paid a good rate for a good job with good terms, the only people who would ‘Cheat’ are the greedy ones, and they’d get weeded out in no time!

    My, rant over!

    Adrian.

My little input: COP talk. Was thinking:

    Intro, Who I am etc.

How the COP came to it’s current form.

Why the WTA are persuing OFT approval for the COP.

    The COP! (Handouts)

What effect this COP approval can have on Indies

Where the COP is currently with the OFT

    Questions

    Back to Lawrence!

    Seem ok guys? Ade 🙂

I’m also getting dressed up for the occasion. I’m having the WTA logo put onto the short sleeve shirts I wear. If anyone wants one, PM me collar size & Small / Med / Large, I’ll bring them with me… (FOC to you guys as my mate does the embroidery and will only cost me a few pints & a kebab one Friday night)!

I deleted back to Ians post. It is pathetic how every few days, he comments, a few have a go, and he seems ignorant to the comments he’s making.

It’s a serious thread, and the last thing we want is for other Manufacturers / Suits reading it and having the focus taken off what we say and placed on lee winding people up!

I took the initiative, and deleted back to relevent post.

I didn’t feel it appropriate to message him, he’s been told enough! And as Ted said, even has his own thread!

I wonder whether he is deliberately trying to take the limelight off the factual rate cuts & put more focus on him, being an ass! As his persistance is unbelievable!
