😆 Probably! But on a serious note, we can’t have RC attend, then have people throwing sticks etc.
Maybe make it clear to everyone on the day discreetly, that obviously RC are going to be a hot topic, but try keep it to fact and questions, as opposed to rumour etc. Afterall, we don’t want other suits seeing us as a bunch of vicious grudge holding engineers! (Although true, that room wont be the place to display it ;))
If we can be nice / polite and respectful towards them, they will no doubt leave knowing we’re a serious bunch! That will be a good achievment 🙂
Also, them seeing RC agents in an enviroment NOT put together by RC, will make them realise the days of secrecy are long gone and the power of networking is more than they have previously respected!
I’m very happy they’re attending… I cannot wait for 24th September!
Ade 🙂

Would the WTA session be better at the end or after both open floor sessions at least? Reason: There might be some negative stuff said during the open floor, so end the day on a high? In other words, save the best till last? And we can keep it rolling then as the meeting ends, the WTA will be fresh on peoples minds? And maybe we can hang about signing people up when the room empties a bit at end of meeting?
Just a thought…

Ok, starting the GAP analysis this weekend, the plan is to bury my head into it for a few hours tomorrow & Sunday to try get it dusted so any questions can be raised and dealt with, and the analysis sent to OFT way before the meeting.
Do you want me to prepare over the next few weeks, a 5 minute presentation about the formation / progress and how the COP will benefit the WTA and its members?
If so, I’ll be one sober dude on the Thursday night as if I have to do something, it will be the b0ll0cks!

That’s a SH1T load to put on to their network (Taking into account their exsisting commitments too)!

BlockedRe: Repaircare…
I’ve just had Mark Reilly on the phone for the last 35mins!
He knows they’re f**king relationships and MY summary is, they are panicing like hell to get something outa the bag imminantly.
He’s also said, don’t do anything rash next week, (He’s away for a week), he’s going to come see me for a ‘Chat’ when he’s back… (I’ll have my bodyarmour on ready for the bullet) 🙂
And my debit has been cancelled with lots of apologies!
Too little too late for me though… 01/10, I AM STICKING to my terms if still an agent, so they better not think a cuppa and a kit kat will calm me down!

I bet that’s what gets them the most, not that they have lost respect from their network, but that it’s broadcasted to the world!
Afterall, we all know RC like their secrecy!
Mark Reilly told me not so long ago that he had a ‘Telling off’ from Gary Ainscough because he’d told me a competitor had been trying to get in with RC. Aparently Gary made a big deal about how important it is for none of us to know jack sh1t!

BlockedRe: DSG/RepairCare Rate Cuts
I am that repairer that has issued my terms to continuing with the DSGi work via Repaircare.
I am willing to continue with the deducted rate, but there are some areas where I can no longer accept the loss.
Out calls are one. If Repaircare want sole responsibilty for booking DSGi calls, then they are in fact ‘Telling me’ where and when to send my vans and engineers. This is fine, I have no real issue with that, but when there is no-one behind the door, and we fail to gain acsess, I can not continue taking that loss.
‘Whole appliance guarantee’ is another, I have absolutely no issue giving a guarantee on the repairs my engineers carry out for ‘Bad Workmanship’ or ‘Incorrect Diagnosis’. But where we change a pump on the 5th of August, and are then expected to go replace a broken door for free on the 20th of August, this is not justified and certainly not allowed for in the rates offered.
The last of my issues is the BER rate of £20. If an appliance is BER by definition (Beyond economical repair), or unrepairable, then I am prepared to accept the BER rate. However, most BER’s are simply down to part shortages. Repaircare unable to supply the parts ordered within the time constraints of DSG’s policy exchange rules. This means our income is restricted to part availability and we lose out financially because of this.
I am more than happy to discuss these points with Repaircare as I’ve already emailed my area manager, but as of yet, no call.
I am also very aware of the possible repercussions of my speaking out, but is hoping Repaircare would try to see my points and take these to DSGi as I know, I’m not the only one with these issues.
This stance was not a decision took lightly. But it is my name above the door, I do have a say in the work that I carry out.

Thank you for your feedback on this matter
We understand your concerns and will do all we can to increase rates.
The Repaircare management team can advise that having listened and read this and other threads particularly regarding the WhiteKnight rate-we are pleased to advise we will introduce the Speed of Service fee to this work. Certain IT work needs to be done to introduce this payment-we anticipate this work will be completed late August. We will advise when the SOS is active.
Regarding service providers terms for wotking with Repaircare – we would be unable to accommodate individual terms and conditions – our Regional managers will discuss these matters with service providers as the needs arise.
Thank you and regards

BlockedRe: Rate reduction issues
Bernard has spoken in the RC Forum:
Thank you for your comments regarding this matter.
I will try to answer the points raised in the thread.
We are all working very hard to ensure the current DSGi work remains within our business, we have had no indication that the current arrangements will change. Part of my responsibility is to ensure DSGi stay with Repaircare
Regarding NESN, we were disappointed we did not get the work- we did quote for the work but we were not successful on this occasion. We will continue to work with DSGi to quote for new work as and when the opportunity arises.
Job volumes seem to be causing a concern-looking at our data we have maintained job volumes in line with previous years. The recession will have reduced certain job volumes (for example Coverplan)-but new work has made up for this loss. We are currently in discussion with several new clients and expect to introduce new work in the coming months.
The management team at Repaircare want to assure all our service providers that we will work tirelessly to maintain current business and bring new profitable business to our service providers.
Our clients, customers and service providers are vital to our success and we intend to maintain our success.
We will of course keep you updated with future developments.
Thank you and regards

BlockedRe: Repaircare…
It’s still there 🙂
Anyways, I look at it like this, my day is completely taken up by RC customers, most of which are DSG customers that are moaning at me left right and center because they have no dishwasher for a few days etc… Stuff that will always happen I know, but it tastes sour when we’re not even making profit on those repairs.
1 of 3 things will happen now…
1: I get the bullet! With no firther communication bar a letter saying thanks for your help etc over the past few years.
2: I’ll have Mark on the phone asking why I put that in the forums… I’ll simply ask why not? Then he’ll give me the bullet.
3: Mark will come and see me and agree ‘Off the record’ to honour my terms as a ‘One off’. (Untill they get another agent or 2 set up then, I get the bullet)!
Either way, I posted that knowing, that was probably the start of the end of relationship between me & them.
We’ll have to see if my post is still there come 10AM mind!
