We have passed the email onto Paul Brooks he has asked that you call him immediately to discuss. His contact number is 01707362000.
Kind Regards

Simple as that. I haven’t phoned him yet as I’m away from the office and doing everything remotely. (Wife not very well, sudden cardiac scare and awaiting further investigation/results).
I wonder if there is any other MFI agents who have actually done the same as I have, or at least threatened MFI that they are about to.

Have asked MFI to clarify the situation. Not actually owed anything by AIG right now but did get an unusual flurry of AIG calls off them yesterday, almost as if another agent or even MFI themselves did not want to take the risk. Right now they are sitting on my desk un booked. As I am not owed, as such and have no problem with normal MFI jobs, I dont have grounds to refuse the jobs. Having said that, I dont want to be a sitting target should the worse happen.
hope the missus is OK Alex.

Oh dear, sorry to hear that Alex, hope all is well.
On AIG, I know of at least three or four agents with them on stop presently or MFI themselves.
MFI of course will sing a different song.

We have all MFI calls on stop at the moment and judging from their reaction ( silence ) I dont think we are Agents anymore.
Stuart Chesterman asked us to go to a F&P call outwith the area we cover for MFI and after we refused to do the call he aggreed to pay us £90 to go and sort the appliance. Being a suspicious person I asked him to email and confirm the payment which he did. We then invoiced LGH for the call and it was rejected. So far I have sent 3 emails to him and all have been ignored so I called Jim Frew who said he would check and get back to me, after a couple of weeks I called him again and he said it was nothing to do with him as it was not a service problem ❗ so I think Paul Brooks is next on the list.
I will let you know the outcome 😈

This will put a smile on a few faces.
Spoke to Mark Ridler today, he told me he had just cancelled the D/Debit for his holiday insurance.
Yes you guessed it, A.I.G.
I rest my case.

KeymasterI got a call through from MFI today for G84, Helensburgh, which is an outlying area and, surprise, surprise, it’s gas.
I hope its LPG and that’s an easy way out.
If not I’m sure I’ll find another way out.
I’ve not looked at it yet but if it’s AIG it’s getting sent straight back with suitable comment on it.
I hate this, I really don’t want to not work for MFI as it’s of no benefit to me not to do it but I’m not doing it for free. I like MFI but I like my bank balance more.

And yet another twist.
Apparently they can’t get credit for the moment from anyone and, rumour has it, that they can’t get appliances due to this. I don’t know about anything else for now but I am aware that at least two appliance suppliers have walked away.
The big fear of course is that people see them as too high a risk and go elsewhere, at which point, the cash will dry up very quickly indeed.
All I can say is, I’m glad they don’t owe me any money.

They owe me about £750, but I owe them £500 plus as I haven’t paid them since 12 August. So it is my fault.

KeymasterAt least it isn’t a fortune Alex.
However apparently Paul Brooks has gone to ground and is either “in a meeting” or “on the phone”. :rolls:
It’s hardly a surprise though really. 😕

Well, after a day of running around here there and everywhere for MFI customers (Haverhill Suffolk to Theydon Bois!) I get home and find a “complaint” email that a mfi customer has reported me as being “rude and obnoxious” The job in question is an AIG one which I have put on hold until we get paid some outstanding amounts and have not yet completed. Guess the customer is fed up waiting and has gone to any lengths to get her machine done. I phoned her up as she obviously does not know the meaning of rude and obnoxious……she does now.

Spoke to Mark Ridler again this morning, asked him who is he working for today? He was quite ebullient and considering the circumstances sounded cheerful. He tells me that his boss has stated he will guarantee all agents are paid in full, I’ve suggested he puts out an official statement, preferably signed. As If!!
He knows we have ceased operations with them for the time being, and I’ve advised AIG are on stop for non-payment issues. He concurred there are problems with AIG.
If you notice there are no calls coming through, he tells me that they are migtating into a new IT system.
note this was written with some cynicism

My bet would be that any statement delivered en-mass would not be forthcoming. Asides from which, other than a hollow promise, there seems to be little to back it up at present.
After the last meet it would be bl00dy hard to say anything other than that there were problems with AIG payments!
However I heard an interesting snippet the other day that Extracare had been hawking about their engineers services to third parties. Worse, it was at low rates.
Desperation?
