from administrator, something to look forward to on Monday then Alex!
Basicly asking us how much we are owed etc, not read fully yet.
Seems the management buyout has meant the administration of the previous MFI retail company. The new company is called…….the Mfi group Limited!October 11, 2008 at 3:57 pm #105751kwatt
KeymasterI’m on a very unstable GPRS connection this weekend, well dodgy even seeing the email TRN for this never mind the thread. 😕
Lawrence called me earlier and basically I’d have them on a total stop until it’s all clarified.

Just been talking to Stuart Parnham one of the receiver’s ,All he could tell me was that they are continuing to trade under a new managemant structure and company and are taking orders as before ,but he couldn’d get his head around me being a repairer so a “colleague” wil ring me

Jim Frow assured me this morning we will all get paid within a week, as soon as the money is released.
Spoke to Emma in D&G who tells me, that there is only a delay due to the changeover of management, the money is there, just waiting to be released.
In both cases, why did we get the letter from Kroll?
We have phoned all the MFI customers in our system, advising we are unable to call except on a pay & claim basis, and we are refusing to accept parcels from MFI.

I just got a slightly different story from Lawrence from his conversation with Jim Frow!
Basically, it’s not guaranteed.

Of course it’s not guaranteed, there would be nothing in place to cover the debts as left by the previous administration.
They tried to pass a call today by phone, we politely told them we could not oblige under current circumstances, and they slammed the phone down. We are refusing to sign for goods, and we have told all their customers in our system we are not able to call and complete the work.
I just hope there is nobody daft enough out there to take them on their word.

Well now, things do start to get a little interesting…
Basically no info from MFI, they’ve all sunk into their burrows it would appear and no-one wants to know.
But, I just had a call from DAG asking if we’d do their work for MFI sold products direct. 🙂
So we now know that DAG don’t see an end in sight and would prefer to do it direct and get something done. Either that or they know the whole thing is about to keel over and die.
Interestingly I mentioned Extracare and spares, or the lack thereof and they acknowledged that if Extracare folds then parts may be an issue.
Read into that what you will but I’m not laying odds on MFI as we know it surviving the week.

They won’t if collectively everyone pulls together & refuses to do any more.
The way I look at it; if there are a few empty promises from them, there is a chance some of those repairers who are owed a lot may well fall for it hoping that they can still be an agent, and perhaps make up for it in the long term. That never happens, and the sooner MFI implode the better.
We need to get the message out there though.

Moderatorthe realy sad part if they do vanish is that extracare were a damn good supply of various spare parts that are difficult to source elswhere.

Yeah, but if they vanish, so will the product and their reputation. Chance to get in there & offer a replacement product sooner than you think.

So today we get 2 calls passed, and then open to post to find a pile of invoices and a statement, which promptly got returned to them.
Then we get an e-mail asking us to cancel an order we had placed back in Sept regards a job, we already have the parts so I assume they are managing without us. Have left several messages on Mark Ridlers phone, no reply.

ModeratorGot a couple passed by email today. the bumpf on the bottom of the job sheet has been changed to reflect that they are in administration but there is no official order or signature from any of that lot listed on the Kroll letter. Needless to say I have rejeted. one of them is an AIG who were on stop aready anyway before all the MFI admin business.

An source from within MFI told me yesterday that the new company went into administration on Thursday night. So what the hell is going on?
