Dont talk to me about WD40
Had a client (my mum and dad 😳 ) whose tumble dryer was squeeking. Unable to find “bearings” dad squirted WD40 on the shiny bits.
Need I say more ❓

I’ve got a customer that won’t accept…
“The part is obsolete!”
…as an answer. His 20 year Belling cooker needs an obsolete part, but he just won’t accept that it’s obsolete 😕
“No! No, you can get one!”
“Sorry, it’s obsolete.”
“Well, try again, please.”
🙄
I don’t know how else to tell him?

Hotpoint washer dryer, complaint = Door wont open.
Customer informed that I will call in the morning sometime between 9 and 10. I get there about 09:45 to find she has got the machine running, half-way through a drying cycle (the machine red hot!! )
Customer : ” I decided to wash the curtains this morning and as the fault is very intermittent I was hoping it would be faulty when you arrived?”

Had a customer on the phone just now moaning that I had charged her ‘au pair’ for a call I made last week to fix her dishwasher :con:
She and her husband had gone off on a fortnights holiday and left the au pair in the house with the kids. Days later the dishwasher stops working, she mentions it to the customer during one of her daily ‘calls home’??
The customer tells the au pair to ring me, I get the call and fixed the dishwasher the next day. As usual I ask to be paid there and then for my services and the au pair obligingly writes out one of her personal cheques (with bankers card) and away I go, everyone happy – oh so I thought? 🙁
Customer comes back from sunny Spain (or wherever?) and decides to give me an earfull saying ….” that I had no right to coerce the young lady into paying for the repair out of her own money!” and that “if I had left the bill she would have paid immediately she returned home!”
I replied that perhaps under the circumstances it might have been more prudent had she telephoned me to explain the situation? As it was I was not so enlightened and merely treated it as yet ‘another call’ during which I simply asked her to pay me and without question she produced her personal cheque book and job sorted!
Darned if I can figure what her problem was with that, but hey! You can’t win ’em all 😕
Oh how I was so so tempted to ask her if she had a nice holiday but I guess her mouthing off at me was evidence enough :rotfl:

I went to a lovely ladies house about 4 weeks ago, she was pleasant, gave me a tissue for the sweat pissing off my forhead (the machine was tight to get out and the floor had warped nearly giving me an anurism lol)
gave me a cuppa dead pleasant.
it was a htp wm52 and it was not spinning so i fitted her some brushes charged her my fee and left leaving her a pile of business cards at her request to pass out to her friends and family.
she even called my office to thank us, dear sweet lady.:)
TODAY she rang in to tell me that it was not working “again” and that today the machine just fills and fills till water comes out of the soap box, bearing in mind she has used it twice a day for 4 weeks since my last visit.after booking her down for a call the following morning and just about to hang up she says “i wont have to pay for this will i?”
to which i reply of course. then the arguement ensues
you only fixed it a month ago its still under guarantee
no luv your brushes are
blah blah blah
used the metaphor if you take your car to the garage for a tyre you dont go back 4 weeks later and expect a new clutch do you.
after about 15 minutes of this nice banter she threatened to tell the papers (headline news i know)
threatened to take me to trading standards and demanded a refund of the orignal repair .
and is also going to tell everyone she knows how bad a company we are.
i just know i have not heard the end of this.
forget to take your pills today madam 😈September 6, 2006 at 4:00 pm #107395Martin

A regular occurence for most of us is to fish the odd button out of the pump. I’ve fished out a few in my time let me tell you but todays encounter beats that by far. In fact this Bosch machine was clogged up with no less that 4,000 buttons. Yes I typed it correctly the first time….4,000 buttons in one washload!!!!
The buttons were all in pillow cases (look closely at the inset in the photo) each pillowcase contained a minimum of 400 buttons. The buttons sorted into different colours in each and the one containing the green buttons had a faulty seam. The pillowcase split and the buttons were everywhere, inner drum clogged with them, sump hose, pump and drain hose. In fact a major job getting them all out and accounted for!!!!
(Why was she washing all those buttons I hear you ask? They were all taken off clothing from charity shops and were to be sorted, washed and then given to a school for autistic children. They will eventually glue them onto card and make mosiac like pictures out of 10’s of thousands of buttons.)
All in a days work eh?……. :rolling:

At my local scrap yard the other day and we shared a laugh about a minging old Servis Quartz washing machine I had brought in.
‘Thats nothing he said’. He’d got a washer in a couple of months ago from a local council vanman who when he dropped it off said ‘Don’t open the door whatever you do’.
Curiosity got the better of him and he did.
It absolutely stank to high heaven and was full of mouldy onion skins.
Apparently it had been picked up from behind a local curry house and was used for washing onions for curry :eeek:
Does that beat Martins buttons? 😀Tony C
