Ask you to order a part, get you to drive a 60 mile round trip, then threaten you with “further action” if i insisted on getting paid the agreed amount because i didnt cure the fault 😯
Dont think i’ve had a MAJOR fall out with a customer in many a year.. this one would make a saint consider murder though.Integrated washer, Merloni type with s/s drum, shes utterly convinced the ‘leak’ is down to the hole shes spotted in the door seal.. not unreasonable one would think, so order it i did & duly turned up a couple of days later.
Fitted seal,have cuppa coffee waiting for debor on drain spout to set before testing.. lovely. NOT!
Water starts pouring from it like that famous north American waterfall & she instantly turns into a bloody she devil. “what have you done, its worse than ever” blah blah :rolls:To cut a long & frankly boring story short, further investigation revealed a tear in the backplate where the heater enters caused by a broken spider.(she never once mentioned it was noisy!) I advised her to scrap this 7 yr old machine, a reasonable bit of advice i thought.
She, however, thought i should have been able to diagnose the prob over the phone & save her the call out charge (which was apparently ridiculous according to her (45 squid :rolls: ) i even offered to take the seal off & keep it for stock, but the silly bitch was in such a rage she didnt even hear me saying it.
Hubby eventually ushered her into the living room, agreed it really WASNT my fault & paid up in full.

I don’t normally go out to appliance where the customers have messed about but I need the work.

new temperature sensor from e-spares £17.94 inc vat and P&POne tiny blob of solder on the pcb and 10 minutes work from me – bingo working. 😀

Just a few off the top of my head here:
1) People who ask you to phone a mobile number before arrival which you duly do but can only leave a voicemail message. You arrive at the call & surprise, surprise, no one is home. You try number again & this time get hold of customer who claims to know nothing of any message & wants you to wait “10 minutes” which turns into half an hour.
2) Customer gives you product details for a completly different appliance to the one they want repaired & moan that you can’t fix it. To make matters worse, you charge them a call out fee & tell them that if the repair doesn’t go ahead for ANY REASON they don’t get their money back. You later find the part they need is obsolete & they moan like hell that they want their money back.
3) Customer has put a tumble drier in a cupboard about 5 foot plus above floor level with no room to either side & just expect that you are Hulk Hogan & can move it out & back when it is fixed with no help.
4) Customers who book either an AM or PM call for an appliance & when you turn up are using the appliance in question & utter the immortal “I didn’t expect you at this time” phrase.
5) Customers who book a call but leave their relative on site to let you in who speaks no English & you have no way of contacting the person who booked the call in the first place.
6) People who book a PM call & are on the phone at 11.59AM demanding to know why you haven’t arrived.

TBH,Its been like this for the duration,yes we ALL know fine well what the public is like,Simple answer is: change occupation.
Im with helo on this one,take the money and don’t give a damn ( obviously do a proper job ).
Ya will get this knida crap daily and it sure aint gonna stop. 😀

Not sure if this should be under the heading of ‘Time wasting little ba***rd’
Got a call request via email on Monday to call at an address in town, his tennant.
I was to let him know prices first and with an address to send the invoice to on completion it seemed like a legit call.
Tried to contact the tennant all week, leaving messages on voicemail and keeping landlord up to date with progress.
Tennant finally replies to my messages today and lets slip they have had someone round who told them it was the motor and it would be a write off 😕
Emailed landlord to inform him it looked like I was on a wild goose chase and he replied to me saying yes we’ve had it sorted, and that he’d emailed and rang several firms about it8O . What a Barclays!!!
What gets me most annoyed is that this guy is in business as a carpet supplier……….think I might order some carpets tonight. 😉TC

Rang a customer Wednesday evening to arrange a visit for his Fridge the following day ; Offered a slot between 10 and 12 . ” I have opticians appt at 12 ” he says, so I end up re arranging my schedule to suit him, causing me a bit of extreme driving :rolls: …
I arrive at 10.30, only to be told he has cancelled his opticians appt ( thanks for letting me know 👿 )…The reason ? He has a very bad cold that his nurse daughter thinks might be swine flu , and he didnt want to pass the germs on to anyone else 😯Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Have you had the customer that makes a brew in front of you and drinks it while your repairing their machine and not even offering you one!!!!! 😯
