Depending on my mood my reply it’s usually “well you won’t be needing me then” or if they say “I know what it is,it’s the thermostat” I reply “OK I’ll change it then shall I ” their confidence usually evaporates fairly quickly.

Her hubby had partly taken the dishwasher apart and she gave me all the screws he took out bar one! I asked her to have a look around and see if she can find the missing screw and added…“meanwhile I’m just popping to the van to see if I have one in my ‘Odds & Sods Tin”……….
….to which she replied with a raised voice…..”PLEASE DO NOT SWEAR IN FRONT OF MY CHILDREN – THANKYOU!” 😯

My pet hate happened today.
“Do you want the instruction book”.
This is before I’ve had chance to go any further than asking what is the problem.
I now always reply “Is there anything in there you don’t understand”.
Always brings on a look of puzzlement, I guess the ones that wouldn’t be puzzled don’t ask dumb questions.
Although those people tend to look puzzled when I ask for the instruction book. 😆

For the last few weeks I get loads of calls that stop ringing just before I get to the phone. I suppose it’s people who don’t want to let the answering machine kick in. They are local numbers so it is probably customers. At one time I would have rung them back but these days I can’t be bothered chasing customers who have already irritated me!

I’ve been going to this customer for about 6 years.
She’s never in but although she knows when I’m going. I always have to move a table, water bottles and loads of carrier bags and under the sink, pots and pans, casserole dishes and more carriers.
I always leave everything just where I put them to but she still hasn’t got the message.
Still, she is a regular customer. 8)

Went to a gormless lass today with a dishwasher problem (like you do). :rolls:
It turns out that every time she uses the dishwasher she puts one 3 in 1 tab in the dispenser and a scoop of granular salt in the bottom corner of the door. When I questioned why does that she explained that the last ‘bloke’ that came to fix the machine ‘told me I should do it!’
She went on to say that when she puts her washing machine on she puts one portion of detergent in the first section of the drawer and a portion of salt in the other! The same ‘bloke’ said it ‘acts as a water softener!’ 😯

You may recall that I referred to her as “gormless”? Well just to support my medical prognosis (as it were) of her condition, on my asking that very same question of her she said ” I can’t remember!” 😈

Not annoying just bl***Y stupid.
Went to a CTD00 today. Not heating too well and taking no water. Condenser clearly hadn’t been cleared since new and the door and filter covered in fluff.
Pointed it out to the customer who said he’d cleaned the condenser recently. He took a look at the box when I took it out and said.
” You know, I’m not sure this is my dryer” :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:TC

Went to one customer today who was insistent over the phone that his machine wasn’t spinning because his door seal had gone and he “didn’t want anything else, just the door seal” because he’d already “checked” the machine. I queried door seal = no spin, but got told that he’d already checked on the interweb and so knew far better than me :rolls:
Got there, Candy washing machine upside down on the floor from his attempts at “changing” the door seal. Machine just had suds lock as was VERY soapy, but suspension had come off and smashed filter housing. Put suspension back on, new filter housing and didn’t have to change one of those bloody Candy door seals – happy days.
Matey boy tried to haggle at the end by offering £20 because “I’d only been there 20 minutes”. Trying to explain to him how lucky he was that the PCB wasn’t smashed as well didn’t go down well 😆
