Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

1st phonecall on the morning today was just as I parked up for the schoolrun at 8.45. Asked if I could ring her back in twenty minutes she said no problem she’d ring back. You guessed it, I rang her back to be told she’d rung someone else. 👿

Then a call on a Whirlpool hvy duty drier. He knew all about every sodding thing I did even the rating of the ‘6.3Amp fuse on the left hand side under the cover’ 👿 . Or is it the ‘thermal fuse on the blower cover, got all my info off the Sears site in the States even the prices’ 😈 .
Then why didn’t you fix it then?
‘Oh no I don’t touch electrics, better left to people who know what they’re doing’ :rolls:

Then get the call thats been booked since last Friday, no drain on a Whirlpool F/L. They had checked the filter but still no drain. Chased me twice in the afternoon cos his wife was wanting to start washing. On my way there he rang to cancel saying she had looked in the filter and found 5P. 😈 😈

I’m counting down the days to my short break at Gt Yarmouth even more now :haier:

when you know from the off they will be trouble , a guy who lectured me on what a hepa filter was and what the letters stand for the fact it was the one on the side with the sponge not the one under the bin, and that dc07 cyclone cant need replacing…ever .. because theres no moving parts, he had obviously read the full dyson history apart from whrere the hepa filter fits

and the week old mouldy food in ovens that they had last night 😕 right

or the chips embeded into grease on the hob

or would you like a cuppa, yes thanks…its ready come and sit down , best china, cakes ,biscuits,,nice chats about medical problems, 😥

once had a old guy who always stopped his washer half way through tilted it back anf put a squirt of fairy in it because he cleaned his collers on his shirts better

saying that 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of cust are ok 😀

call out to hp washing machine, wf220 or something, inspected, damaged rear half tub and potentially new pcb as its p155ed all over it.

cust – are you sure its not fixable?

us – no, it is fixable, but its not *economical* to fix…

cust – so why cant you fix it?

us – we can but do you really want to pay more than what the machines worth to repair it?

cust – no of course not, but how much will it cost?

us – as we said, about £200 for the module and rear drum, and then the labour which is nearly £60

cust – sounds like youre trying to sell us a new machine, how much is a new one?

us – a like for like hotpoint is going to be about £300ish

cust – thats more than £250… i think well have a think about it…

us – ok, feeling were gonna get shafted, politely insist on the callout fee before leaving. cust was, shall we say, reluctant.

Cust – thing is we dont want to spend more than £100 on a repair as we are moving house, the only sticking point is we are selling the appliances with teh house… so we need somethign that works when we leave, could you find us a second hand machine, it doesnt matter if it lasts only 3 motnhs! as long as its cheap!?

us – well look into it…

cust – can we still have our callout deducted from the s/h mAChines price?

us – pretend we didnt hear…

anyway, lo and behold, get hold of a nice bosch classix, call them up and offer it to them, “no sorry £150 *inc vat* is too much, and really like a hotpoint as everything else in the kitchen is hotpoint…”

GRRRRRRR picky tightwads! they seem to think theyd lose more money by selling the house less the cost of a new w/m when all they have to do is knock off £100 for the value of their 6/7yr old model!

they never cease to amaze me…

2 weeks ago regular customer rings, leaves a message (frg/fzr – frg ok fzr too warm) I return the call – leave a message, then another – no reply
fast foward to yesterday – 3 messages on my answer service – same fault…

Went this mornig at scheduled time, he’s out Arrgg.

Eventually got back this afternoon – Beko CSB4606FFW 03 serial….

Iced over evaporator – flipping stunk of rancid fish that’s obviously been going off slowly over weeks… that and the blasted cat hairs in the freezer !!!!!

Fault turns out to be faulty defrost timer… and oh yes the customer had seen and read the articles but didn’t think his was affected him because his was an old appliance. Customer just got back to me, Beko says it’s ok for him to use it and they’re out next Friday…

Suppose it’s saved him the cost of a defrost timer but a lot of wasted food and a very smelly house…..
PS I can still smell the rancid fish even after a shower…

Just getting people to answer the bloody door seems like hard work atm 😕

    Nearly every job…

    Ring Ring
    “Hello?”
“Hi! Is that Mrs blah blah blah?”
    “Yes.”
“It’s Paul. Here about your dishwasher? I’m stood outside banging on your front door! I rung you ten minutes ago, to say I’d be with you in ten minutes!”
“Oh, I thought I heard something.”

    :rolls:

    Whinge over!

its also amazing how many folks are vacuuming the house when we call and can therefore not hear the bell, knocker, telephone.
When I am expecting anyone to visit myself, I am by the window, checking every car i hear pulling up, or other noises, expectantly and dare not play any music or anything just incase I dont hear the bell.

thats a bit creepy mate –

reminds me of the time i pulled up to this house with engines etc in front garden ..

blinds shut – then i see someone peeking out of one of the slats – all off a sudden his whole head shoots through the slat – and he shouts to me – i say old chap are you coming in hear ….. needless to say you couldnt see me for burning rubber,,

How many houses do you go to and ring the bell…….nothing, knocker and a bang on the door, they appear….Oh the bell hasn’t worked for months now. Then take it off the frame or put a bl**dy sticker on it.

why oh why do they wait to your at the most akward point of a job , ie built in dishwasher you are balancing decor door on your knee – control bezil has just fallen and you are fighting against springs on door so it doesn’t shut.

and oh yes they decide to come back to kitchen at that moment and say ..

do you know whats wrong with it … normally just after 5 minutes of you arriving ..

    ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

not creepy, just being responsible, after all I have asked whoever to call and know how it feels to be on the receiving end of a no show at the door. Whats more, I dont want to miss out on my repair/delivery/whatever!
