Customer bought a refurbished cooker from us 2 years ago and rented a washer at the same time.Payment for the washer has been sporadic and were chasing it on a regular basis. His girlfriend phoned us the other day to tell us one of the rings on the cooker had gone and we had better come out and fix it as the “law” says we are liable for any faults for 6 years. After pointing out that this is a secondhand cooker and this “law” does not apply, she then said she is stopping paying for the rented washer (which is in arrears anyway) until we give her the name of our solicitor.Guess what -we’ve sent her the standard letter to reclaim the washer (and to sue for the arrears) and as for the cooker I think she can swivel.Where do these muppets come from there just seem to be more of them everyday.

why do cusotmers always phone and chase outstanding spares orders about 10 minutes after the parcel has arrived. Makes us look as though it has been sitting there for days and we have just not been bothered to call them!

On parts chasing as well, what is parts chasing? We rarely ever talk to a human when ordering parts and if we do they know as much about when a part will show up as we do. I always explain that it is “all part of the service, we will call you as soon as we have it-no need to call us” but it seems this falls on deaf ears of those with nothing better to do than hassle us and keep someone from doing their job trying to tell them somethine they dont want to hear.

Tell me about it, it is extremely annoying.

But I guess that’s the world we live in these days, people expect to be able to see the status of spares etc. at the click of a mouse.

I often have to explain that manufacturers do not offer tracking information on spare parts at all usually so we haven’t a clue where it is, somewhere between us and China… who knows. We don’t.

What’s mega annoying is when people in the industry do likewise.

“Do you know when the part will arrive”. What I want to say is…

If I knew that you dozy bugger don’t you think I’d tell you straight off the bat and, would have told the customer when they asked ten minutes before they called you?

Then you get manufacturers asking the same, when they’re sending the flaming’ parts!!!

    Drives me bonkers.

Why is it that when you explain (at length) to a customer that as the fault they have is intermittent and that, as they know, it only happens once a week and that as I have found no sign of a fault it will probably reoccur at some point and to ring me when it does……………DO THEY GET ARSEY AND RING AT 10 O’CLOCK AT NIGHT SAYING YOU LEFT MY MACHINE WITH THE SAME FAULT 👿 👿 👿 👿 SOTTERS.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

I would like to propose that “THE PLONKER OF THE WEEK AWARD” of last week goes to my local customer (Who we’ll call Dick just to protect his identity) with a Bosch built in dishwasher.

Complaint: D/washer wont pump out. He’s tried fixing it himself but after he’d ripped the aquastop valve out of the kitchen cupboard and snapped the cover plate on the back of the machine. Decided it was beyond his realm of skills and called me.

Airing on the side of caution I went armed with a new complete aquastop hose. He tried turning the rear adjusting foot with a pair of Molegrips until it snapped off too by the way. I found that out only when I got there and witnessed the carnage for myself. The side panels, outer door panel, decor panel, baskets and filter lying in the snow on the lawn out back.

The problem, needless to say, was a piece of broken glass in the pump, simple 5 minute fix. But I was there nearly 2 hours sorting the mess out and reassembling the machine. He’s also thrown the decor panel fixing brackets and screws in the wheelie bin for some unexplained reason. Luckily I carry a full decor panel fitting kit as he had earlier proposed that I leave the panel off and he fit it later. Given the damage he’d already caused I suggest he allow me the task.

Therefore I propose “Dick” be given last weeks “PLONKER OF THE WEEK AWARD”. 😈

Not annoying this one but certainly made me laugh. Took the lid off a washer last week and the customer points to the concrete block and asks “Is that limescale?”. You couldn’t make it up!

    WHY DO THEY LIE!!!!!!
Went to one yesterday, hadn’t used the dishwasher (FDW60) since it failed six months ago. Sited under a draining board, pots piled up, machine front and facia soaked, the gaps under the facia between it and the door panel full of black gunk. Told her that wouldn’t do it any good as all the control parts are in there.
“Oh it’s the first time It’s got like that. My sister in law washed the pots this morning” :con: Why????

    Do “stuff” like this…

    http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/action-de … -1-4600810

What was she expecting for £159, Rolls Royce levels of service?

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Well she did pay the £159 for the service, not the machine. 😉

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

    I read it wrongly. 😉

I see loads of these where they’re whining about their Haus machine from Argos etc.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

On the other hand, if she reads the Daily Star then she is unlikely to be buying a decent machine, got to be a cheapo Chinese or Indesit. 🙂

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Cut a long story short. One customer I had, upset me. 12 months later came knocking on my front door and asked me to go look at his washer. Told him if I go to his house he has to pay me my labour charge regardless. Went to his house later in the day to find a Servis washing machine about 25 years old but looking like it had just come out of the box. Broken door handle told him £100 (because of what he had done before). It was either that or my labour charge.
To cut the story short again I went and fetched the door catch went back to the house to fit it (had already pocketed the £100) the daughter had been left to deal with me. I asked her how long the machine had been broken and she replied “before I was born” and she was 22.
