Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Whilst I am on the subject. Had another one knock my door “My friend says you fix the washing machines” he said quizically.
Cut a long story short again. Went to his house. He had paid someone £50.00. to look at the machine, who told him he needed a new timer. He paid £129.00. for the new timer from Hoover, then paid this other person another £50.00. to fit the timer. The machine still did not work and had been broken for 4 months. Turned out to be the wrong timer. Removed the new timer and put back the old timer, then took a sock out of the sump hose. Machine worked perfect. Spent half hour on the phone to Hoover and managed to get him his money refunded for the timer.
He said “how much do I owe you” I replied “£55.00.” at which he replied “thats a bit much, can’t you do it any cheaper”.

    Open their mouths !

A long term customer, said to me yesterday – “oh my, you’ve put some weight on!” Cheeky bugar. The look on his wife’s face was priceless. She left the room out of embarassment.

I’ll forgive him, he’s really not well and I’m sure he’s got a bit of Alzheimer’s or domentia. He’s a lot worse since last year when I saw him. Bless him. Worrying thing, he still drives 😯

Besides! At my medical this year, I had lost 9KG compared to two years ago so there!!!

    Me- what’s wrong with it?
Him- well I think it’s blocked up as its not washing clean, so I filled the salt container, (which was empty) with vinegar!

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Went to one two days ago, I’m running a bit late so when I get there the guy is twitching his curtains in anticipation of my arrival.
As I pull up in front of his drive and start sorting my various bits out (disconnecting phone/sat nav etc.) he appears at the side gate and watches me get out of the van, walk all the way down his drive, and as I reach him at the gate he says..
” Move your van off the drive mate, I might decide to go out in a bit”
So the T**t watched me walk all the way down his drive and waited till I reached him before he said anything…
Not only that but he had to wait until I’d finished sorting his machine before he could go anywhere anyway!

    Arrrgggghhh… idiots!

Nearly 20 mile run to the edge of my patch, tenant was late so I had to wait for him coming back despite our appointment. After struggling to get the machine (WD420G)out due to poor installation, repairing the pcb (faulty cap). Re-fitted pcb, struggled again, ranting and raving to put the machine back. One quick final check, fill, heats, empties checking dryer function test and the tell tale hummmmm of a seized/stuck dryer motor.

Turning to the tenant he saw my frustration and said “sorry mate didn’t I tell you. The dryer gave up months ago”

Told the letting agent there’s a full labour charge to go back out again if they want it repairing. I could have gone fore armed and sorted both jobs … damn tenants…

Customer collected nice new shiny Bosch WTS86500 condenser dryer with steam refresh. Hour later she’s on the phone.

What’s the bottle of distilled water for in the drum, I thought tumble dryers took water out of clothes not put it in?

The water is for the steam refresh, we talked at some length about it before you ordered the appliance. Have you not seen this in the instructions, it does tell you all about it in the green section.

No I havn’t opened that pack up yet they are on the worktop.

Well then I suggest you read them before you use the machine

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Worst I had was a few years ago when I was working for the manufacture, turned up to a call 3 days before Xmas, motor failure and I did not have on on the van as I’d uses it the day befor and the return date was showing up as into the new year, I knew i was due a delivery the following day and was able to confirm there was a replacment motor on on it, I said as it was Xmas I’d come back with the Xmas eve and fit it for them, this was in my own time as I was not rebooking the call through the office and was doing them a favor, I completed it booked to motor out and told here I’d see here Xmas eve. 2 hours later I get a call from my manager asking me to explain why I’d booked a motor is not fitted and that the customer has been on the phone screaming demanding its fixes now, this dropped me in all sorts of crap.

Turns out the wife who I was there with phones her husband once I left to explain what was happening and he decided that if he called in and started demanded a same day fix it would be done.

The office agreed that I’d go back on Xmas eve and I did and fitted the motor, the wife was there again and I politely explained her other half caused me real problems and reminded them that I was trying to do them a favour by returning before Xmas I finished and left

Shortly after Xmas I got an message to say I’m not to return to that call in the future, the husband had phoned up and told them he never wanted me back, I’d never met him or spoken to him, his wife was fine and I never had any problems with here.

    Absolute arsehole of a bloke.

Pull out washing machine from housing, kneel down & start unscrewing backplate, lady decides to clean the top, sweeping all the cr*p into your face.
    Thanks love!!

Why is it plumbers or fitters have to cut off nice rubber end off waste hose when plugging it onto U bend spigot? Leaving a nice plastic to plastic join, (which then leaks when u touch it ) customer always says the fitter did that. !!- husband’s a fitter now then.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Strange how the husband/boy friend can cause hastle.

Had one recently where I wasn’t allowed to contact the lady of the house. I wasn’t allowed her contact mobile number (he told the letting agent who then told me because they thought it strange). I had to contact him for access and when I tried to arrange a visit it was oh I’m not home then you can’t come then etc etc. Basically he wouldn’t let me in the house unless he was there.

Yet when I met him he was nice as pie but his wife was heavily pregnant. Strange, I wonder if thought he was “protecting” her.

Nowt as weird as folk – some times the “folk” make the job worth while though. It’s not all bad.

Whilst cursing and swearing at and about you…

Then accused you of being drunk as well later.

Then reported you as being drunk to a certain warranty company from London.

    Complete lunatic (her, not you).

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

When I used to work in Reading / Wokingham area (3 days before Christmas) I was let in the house by a snotty little madam in school uniform with her best looking down the nose routine, didn’t speak to me but pointed at the dishwasher :rolls: . Asked the usual questions but she replied ‘Don’t know’ as she flounced off.
As I went out to collect a spare from the van I heard her on the phone chatting to a cronie ‘ Oh there’s some weird little man here looking at the dishwasher, mummy must have requested him’ a few more snidey comments followed with a few re. the lovely brown uniform I was wearing 😈 .
As it was two days before I left the hot and pointed firm I thought fekkitt I’m not having that, picked up tools, back in van and the weird little man dissappeared 😆 .
The weirdest thing about it was that the office backed me up 😯
