I was given a Hotpoint condenser drier a couple of years ago and after testing I gave it to a customer of mine that runs a large letting agency. I went into see him yesterday and he complained that it had worked ok for a couple of months but lost its efficiency so stopped using it. His partner decided to give it a try the other day and he said that she had now removed the fabric packaging from inside the door that I had failed to remove and now works OK but fluff and dust keeps building up in there ?? Can’t give them away without complaint

Just been to a door interlock fault booked on saturday for today (Monday). Cust answered door with puzzled look saying oh somebody came out on Saturday and fixed it. I should have rung you.

Just had someone drop off a Bush washing machine at the workshop asking for the door boot to be put back on,at the time I was fitting it I was thinking to myself’this ain’t no vestel boot’ It just seemed a few mil bigger,anyhow tested the machine only to find it has *issed water everywhere and on closer inspection it don’t seal that well on the door glass.
Iv’e taken the boot off to find that it’s come off an Indesit.Customer claims they have never had any leaking issues before!!
I think they are pikeys and assumed spares are interchangable from all makes!!
Yeah right.

Had a phone call today.
Customer a month ago you repaired our tumble dryer.
Lastnight the shower wouldnt turn off would this be down to the drier repair a month ago and could you come out to repair it.
This was at 2330…….

Called to diagnose a mouldy door seal last week on a hotpoint integ washer recommend replacement ,ring customer half hour before attending as requested so he can pop out of work and return to find the door seal supplied by pne at connect is wrong (they had a choice of two ) remove old door seal and agree with customer that we will match it up and return saturday between 8-10 to fit door seal ,engineer leaves .10 minutes later we ring customer to confirm appointment and that we have sourced the right seal customer asks for money off as he has been messed around and is refused ,after a lot of arguing his final words to the office are “I will have to see how i want to proceed” and puts the phone down .Wait the rest of Thursday all yesterday and today until 10am and guess what ………….we have a phone call “i was expecting an engineer between 8-10 and he hasnt shown up ,told that he hadnt actually booked the call he kicks off big time and when he said i will have to see how to proceed what he actually meant was how he was going to proceed with the complaint …..oh f****ing mind readers are we 👿 .Up shot is the first time in twenty eight years i have refunded call out charge and told him to find somebody else …

The customers who knock at your front door on a Sunday morning at 10am because they get the answer phone saying that we are closed until Monday morning.

Probably posted this before but,working for Lux in the late 70’s my regional manager rang me on Friday evening and said ” a company director is in a caravan on the coast near you and his caravan fridge isn’t working” Ok said will call Monday, “no you will call tomorrow” (Saturday)we were salaried so no overtime! I argued but he said get yourself there tomorrow or else!!.
I was really weed off troubled me greatly overnight, didn’t sleep well, was awake at 5-30am, 6-ooam I was in the van on route, knocked on the caravan door at 7-00am,lots of bumping noises from inside.
Actually the guy wasn’t too bothered and gave me £20 tip (top rate in the 70’s, well the repair was free) after I fixed it and I was back home before 9-00am 😀Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
Just been called to a very plush flat with a students staying in it. She said the fault was her hob not staying on, I asked her to show me and she set it to simmer at no 4 and she said there it keeps going off and on. I explained that’s exactly what’s its supposed to do. She said I don’t want that I want the light on full. So I just said stick it on 9 then.
But that’s not how I want it to work she said, unbelievable waste of time
