I thought I’d seen it all but today I was shocked at the pettiness of what I saw. I had a job at a fixed mobile home site that I regularly visit.
As I drove in the road I was stopped by 3 elderly men. One was the customer I was visiting, the other two were his immediate neighbours.
When I last did a job on that road back in February, I had to turn around at the end of the road. With a multi point turn I manged to get the wheels of my van on this mans’ drive. I did get a call from the original customer back in February saying a neightbour had complained both verbally and in writing and also in writing to the estate manager. 😮
Today the other two neightbours were there to “escort me” so I didn’t go on thier drive. The other two neighbours had traffic cones accross their drives so I didn’t encroach by accident. Thinking they might want to “escort” me out, I did take the mickey a bit making several “false” attempts to leave causing them to rush out of their houses. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Unbelieveable how petty some people get when they age. If I get like that – shoot me.
Part two will be Monday when I return 😀 😀 😀

Got another one for you all that I don’t think’s been mentioned yet, probably because it isn’t exactly politically correct….
They lie.
They lie to whoever will listen to do as they desire, to get their own way and so on.
They lie about what the problem is, often for much the same reason.
They lie about what “the engineer said…”
They lie about what they do with the machines, where they use them, what they put in them…
They will often lie by telling engineers, retailers and manufacturers that things “just happened” as if by magic, even when they are not possible with the known laws of physics and so on.
I’ve even had them lie several times about who they spoke to (who always seems to tell them what they want to hear) even when they do not exist. I’ve had them lie about conversations, what was said and all manners of other stuff.
Perhaps, sometimes, it’s just a flaky recollection of what actually happened, what they actually did but quite often I find that it is a deliberate tactic. Probably just trying to blag it to get what they’re after, like telling you that you only did that job a few months ago, then you check and it was two or more years previous. But if you offer to do it for free they’d never refuse and insist that they pay you.
Feel sorry for the people that have to talk to them on the phones as quite often, the conversations and what customers say is unbelievable, especially when you, as politely as you possibly can, tell the raving lunatic screaming down the phone at you calling you for everything that they’re talking .

we get that now and again – often the customer will say pass your oligopolies on th the office staff as i wasnt the nicest etc when reporting fault.
i think they are taking there frustrations with the appliance – manufacturer retailer you name it – out on the office staff.
im sure its to do with they dont want to take on the corporate re writing in etc – so they think ill have a go at what they perceive is a valid target
it not right – they think if they shout scream lie bullshit intimidate they will get what they want ..
poor clueless bar stewrards

They lie, funny this happened to me today.
Cheap arse f/f.
Stopped cooling several days ago, yesterday they moved appliance to “clean behind it” and it suddenly started working (first lie, unknown why ,but still dirty behind and left plugged on unlikely).
I arrive find unit to temp, no obvious issue except lamp had melted cover, holder and liner.
Door obviously left open.
I explain parts need ordering, reason for not cooling l cannot find, but suspect door left open over night and compressor shut down due to heat and food lost, someones covering their arse. Explained to the husband l cannot find the fault but isolated lamp and told him to keep the unit on and monitor the temps for several days and report any issues.
Best bit several hours later l get a call the wive is going ape s98ui because after l left they went and bought £350 worth of food and found the fridge and freezer defrosted.
After her disrespecting me and telling me that l told them to fill it with food etc etc and that i’m a liar, l dont no my job, etc etc she said that they kicked the motor and it worked then stopped a few seconds later and now keeps clicking every few minutes.
Karma has kicked her right where she deserves it, as the compressor is out of stock:grin:

I’ve got the urge to ring her, intro myself, ask if the office informed them the comp is out of stock and then state the following “Thats karma you f888 slag”.
They tell obvious lies that complaint may also be unbelievable.

yip but its funny how pleased they are to see you after been put through the manufacturer – retailer – service agent merry go round for 2-3 weeks.
they start to tell you all about it and notice your facial expressions of i couldn’t give a monkeys ars### about you or your 3 week wait and endless phone calls …
next time something breaks be honest and yeh maybe be nice ..
and ps if you buy cheap products – be prepared

One made me laugh.
I ring for directions, wife answers and decides to pass the phone to husband, he then struggles with locating my reference points and starts asking the wife, 3 minutes pass, there still arguing between themselves.
I hung up and found it without there help.

The way it takes them about 10 mins to get to tell you the actual problem.

Now that’s something I have never figured out, why do they do that? In fact you could extend that further by answering “….Good morning’ you’re through to Bill Bloggs Appliance Repair Specialists, how may I help you today?” and they will still ask “….is that Bill Bloggs Appliance Repair Specialists….?” I recon it’s best just to answer the phone by saying “HELLO?”

Worst of all is when you turn up after an agreed time say 1 pm. Wait till 1.20 then get a call a couple hours later saying they missed you by 5 mins and expect you to go back.
