Stood perplexed for a minute or so then picked up my tool bag and left.

Or you ring to say your on route to them and you’ll get there in 30 minutes and they reply “Do you no where your going”.
No l have no idea, l just no it’ll take 30 min.:lol:

i totally hate these arsy customers who say your the engineer when you ask whats wrong with it. my inner demons says – i got a feeling this is going to need a part thats out of stock ..haha
or i paid cash for this this , oh yeh £200 pound for a piece of Chinese crap mrs ,, i will drop everything and run to you asap.
.. do you get a lot of these – yeh there a piece of shi@@@t what do you want for £200 ..
my pals got the same one and she had the same fault – yeh like i said there a piece of crap.
what else can go wrong with this .. ehh everything
do you think i should take the extended warranty.. ehh hello i think your 1st clue is its only 1 month old and its failed .
the one i really hate – oh yes i couldn’t find one that would fit the space ,,, yeh so you ended up with the cheapest one in the shop .

yeh we have a new kpi – keeping disgruntled customers happy , nothing to do with your engineering or diagnostic skills.

The liars ……Been trying to arrange to fit a thermostat to an elderly cooker ordered specially two weeks ago, constant phone calls and left messages on land line and mobile from the office are met with silence. Finally decided yesterday to call there bluff and sent them a text from my mobile stating the part would be returned to wholesaler on monday for a credit if i didnt hear anything ,within an hour we have a callon land line from said now stroppy customer saying that they have been waiting for two weeks to have a part fitted but nobody has been in touch and that she can only ring and leave messages after 5pm when we are closed but nobody rings her back ……phone is transferred to a mobile and answered after 5pm up until 9pm everyday ………not thought this lie through really had she .. 🙂

Just had the opposite. Me ” ill phone as soon as I have part “. 3 days later customer ” is my part in yet “. Me. ” not yet”. Another 2 days another call ” is my part in yet only you said you would phone when you had it “. Do they think I’m going to drive around for days with it on my van

I specifically said to a customer don’t ring to chase me up on whether a part had arrived.
She phoned 2 days later saying, ‘ I know you said not to phone, but I was wondering if the part was in ‘.
‘No’ I said.

Or the people with an all day call who go out in the am bacause they didn’t think we would call until the pm.
There excuse we always wait in and people always seem to call late.

cannot believe you can still get away with all day appointments, no one around here would live with that. We give 3 hour windows now and even then they are on the phone 20 minutes after the start time of the window.Andyjones wrote:Just had the opposite. Oh yes, I have even had it printed on the invoice that we will call them as soon as the part arrives- all part of the service! Do you think it works? no chance.

I agree totally with Mark in that in order a service business run effectively then it must provide an appointment system that operates a 3 hour or better still a 2 hour time slot. Backed up with a phone call to confirm and engineer will call within 20 minutes. And unless a system such as this is standard to anyone’s business ethic then wasted calls with customers out is no excuse. A phone call costs a fraction of the overall costing of a job and has to be not only an efficient way of conducting your day to day business activity but also a common courtesy to your much valued customer.
