You beat me to it whilst I was looking for THIS THREAD You popped up the reminder.

That will send Martin to the funny farm for sure.

I don’t think anyone could beat that thread Alex. That is by far the most impressive bearing change I have ever seen!

    Oliver.

    Greetings to all!

Guess what, I got an email from a moderator about my legendary thread being mentioned again here. This moderator went through the trouble of finding my web site and use online contact form to reach me, since my email address here in my profile was from my old school and wasnt in use and my web site wasnt even in my profile. Wow!

I didnt even realize I created sort of a legend here until I received that email. I think I will print it and frame it. πŸ™‚ it was the most surprising email I received ever!

    Thanks!
    Evren

PS. Unfortunately that Candy changed hands a while back and the next owner was not as stubborn as keeping it up and running, so… and my friend who owned it originally moved on to an LG DirectDrive which just didnt get broken yet -and I was busy with an old Renault Twingo which is not a white good heh- so I wasnt around here lately πŸ™‚

I’m glad it got through to you Evren, I wonder if Martin’s kind offer of a new machine still stands. πŸ˜€

If it is heating up the fault may be elsewhere and a blocked condenser or faulty water inlet valve and likely suspects worth checking first. πŸ™‚

is the condenser the big flat weird shape plastic container where all the fluff seems to collect?

i ran the it on a dying cycle for about 10 minutes and it went through the cycle normally. then i tuned the power off and took the element out right away and it was stone cold and so were the clothes that were in it . during the cycle i connected my meter up to the connections directly on the back of the element and there is no voltage across the terminals, shouldn`t there be 240v across them ? πŸ˜•

if the condensor was blocked likely hood is the toc popped, reset it.

errr and turn the power off first.

    10mins, try 30

Yes indeed, as Jeremy suggests, 30 mins is best as the element isn’t energised at less than 20 mins. πŸ˜‰
