ParticipantRe: bosch maxx 8 e21 error
I have just had this fault today on a WAK series Bosch. and after changing the worn out motor brushes and still getting F21 I did as Electrofix suggested and I can confirm that this works and clears the fault code so now the machine now works. Thanks very much. I would never have worked that out.

From memory and this could be totally wrong and I could be talking kriptonite. If there is a buff coloured plastic housing looking from the rear of the machine with the back off on the right hand side that is the pcboard. Last lookalike one to your model I think there was a duff soldering joint on one of the relays and it gave a same or similar fault as you describe. On a very brief search there does not seem to be a great many parts left but will check AEG site. UPDATE. AEG site will not accept serial number. Machine probably too old.

Does it go wrong without a load? How many times did it go wrong? and if only once what was in the machine, was it a pair of jeans ( for example ) that was poorly distributed? What happens if you restart the machine on a wash programme, does the drum go wrong then?If you do not have drum action here then your first port of call
is to check the motor brushes.1totalshambles

Or even: testing the ” latter.” Sorry!

ParticipantRe: low water level?
Well looks a bit lower than I would expect but not by much! Since Partmaster only shows 10 parts for your Chinese made machine of which only 1 is really relevant specifically to you and that is a heater at a totally rip off 70 odd quid I will make a guess as there is not very much info on these things.
Low h2o level. Possible that one half of the solenoid is o/circuit from very much a failing memory there is one valve but 2 solenoids. To test: power off wires to each soleniod remove each solenoid at a time. Set multimeter on 200 ohms any reading circ 3.8 / 4 is normal = valve is ok. But jet nozzle in soap box might be blocked with lime – fairly common
Could be the heater to part earth or even o/cicuit = poor wash. A multimeter is not much good at proving the former but ok for testing the later. If no meter set at 60 degrees does the door glass get hot/hotish? If it is the heater take a note of its wattage, look up the part on p/master and see if you can get a look-a-like one that will do the job for less than 20 / 15 quid, 70 quid is insane a shame on Partmaster!.
I take it the drum goes around on wash and it spins well? How good is the pump out?
I would of thought that if all else appears well it is going to be a fairly daft fault much akin to what Martin points out.
Let us know.September 12, 2018 at 7:22 pm in reply to: Bosch Classixx dishwasher turns itself off mid program #4578451totalshambles

To hazzard a guess! Does the door shut nice and square? Have had similar models where it is the door latch and inner door sensor. What happens is withe the compression of the steam against the door especially if the machine has just part filled up with cold water and the motor kicks in the steam is compessed and if the latch / sensor plate top of s/steel door is slightly misaligned the machine stops. You then come along pressing buttons which the pushes door in and machine trhen restarts. A theory if nothing else.

Thanks a lot, great stuff. Just ordered said part.September 10, 2018 at 4:51 pm in reply to: Heater housing on Hoover Washer Dryer Model WDXA C68562B-80 #4578431totalshambles

Hi Martin. Have you actually cut one of these sealed tanks up to have a look? There must be a reason for poor air flow other than a gutless fan motor or o/load stats rated too low a temp . If there are no blockages anywhere else surely that only leaves one place left to investigate. I`ll let you all know when a write off comes my way and if there is a gauze that is getting blocked I`ll post the pictures or send the cut out piece of tank to Ken. If there is no gauze then I will say so.

Having had alot of problems repairing these recent Hoover washer dryer machines with the sealed tank/condenser units. It has occured to me that at the bottom of the condenser where there is a sharp turn U where the air is drawn up by the fan from the tank that there MIGHT BE a hidden uncleanable gauze or something there rather than just a simple hole. I could be totally wrong as I am waiting for a recent write off ( front weight shearing off, as they are apt to do ) to cut through the tank / condenser to investigate one way or t`other. If there is a gauze, as I suspect there is one, this will be a major problem. Not proved as yet.
Yes I`ve tried shooting water via i /let pipe trick down condenser unit which does not seem to work, the fan blade light clogging does not work either, the amount of air being pushed through the door seal is often weak = o/load stats click out due to o/heating but that could be simply the fan wattage is gutless – I`ll check. Someone somewhere in the design has screwed up good and proper and I`m pretty convinced at least presently that I may well be on the right tracks, we`ll see, if I`m wrong I`m wrong!1totalshambles

” I have replaced the carbon brushes as standard procedure everyone there’s a problem.”
Well were they completey worn out, is the commutator badly grooved in the middle? Have you tested with a meter the motor for resistance set on high ohms just in case the motor o/load has failed? Second thing I would check or replace is the actual plug to the mains lead. Had one bloke with one of Bosch`s finest just about to throw 320 quid at a pcb ( the big one lying flat on the base where the mains lead enters ) on one of these things and it was the damn mains plug messing around and had everyone guessing so lucky him it only cost a quid to fix!
Door handle, well I think every man and his doggy has had one and yes you are right they are a cr*p design as they are on the Siemens version/s too.1totalshambles
ParticipantRe: AEG 16830 dryer cutting out after 10mins
Could the problem be with the PCB and is there any way to test for this?
Not known at least to me.
Have you tested the dryer elements for earth leakage as this can cause loads of strange problems and is a very very common failure point that does not necessarily throw up any fault code but does throw up sometimes a miss leading one. Do not go thinking that the dryer element/s if trickling to earth will bang out a trip, they rarely do. Also not the rarer fault of the heater works but then fails, not because of an earth fault but it just fails cools down might work again for awhile then breaks down. Like I said not that common that one but came a cropper once or twice with that one.September 6, 2018 at 5:03 pm in reply to: Bosch WFF 1201 – Tripped RCD, Now Not Turning or Spinning #3868481totalshambles

Groovy stuff. Well done.

ParticipantRe: Samsung rs 21 fgrs
I reckon the piston is seized in the compressor that would account for the clicking noise as the start winding won`t start and switch to the run windings and the o/load then clicks out cools down then clicks on again getting very frustrated in the process!

UPDATE.
Yes, replacing the 3d pcb has cured the problem. For those that do not know where this part is on the machine it is the small squarish plastic bit with the pcb underneath it top of the tank towards the front held on with 2 screws. Ya cannot miss it!! -
