Limiting the max spin speed sounds like an excellent idea, thanks again Penguin45.

PS I was more than a little amazed that anyone was still around to answer my question after midnight, that has to be service beyond the call of duty

    Re: SMEG WM16AAA bearing noise

Thanks Penguin45, I’ll be on the phone first thing in the morning. I’m a bit disapointed to have had a fault already on a fairly new machine but then again I do seem to get through a machine every 2 – 3 years 🙄

In the past I’ve kept to the cheaper brands but finally decided this was a false economy so wnet for a slightly more upmarket brand this time. Oh well, at least the machine is still under warranty, I’d be even more annoyed if it started playing up when it was just over 12 months old!!

    Martin

Is this true for all appliances with ‘noisy’ motors? Washing machines, vacuums etc. I thought that the Earth was a secondary safety; I’m not saying it’s not important, but I thought that appliances cases should be free from voltage without an earth unless there was a fault.

    BSH-MAN

Thanks. I realise that the lack of earth is an installation issue, but as I’ve set out above, I would not expect a voltage on the case unless there was a fault. It appears that this is misguided.

    Re: Door slider kit wanted

I fitted a mfi kitchen for the in-laws a few years back. The fridge(with slider kit) was a Diplomat, type-hi1521, model-apm6714, serial no-62330240. I’ll be fitting the slider to an absorption fridge in a camper van with all required ventilation at the rear of the fridge.
    Cheers, Pad.

    Re: Servis M9713

Got the Engineer in to look at the fault.

It was a blown connection on the module, so he wired the lead straight to the PCB, and it works now (£75 later, for 1/2 hours work).

Is this the going rate?, I am in the wrong business if it is!

    Re: KGU3201GB/01 Freezing Up

    hi

this problem is normally caused by the drain hole for the automatic defrost being blocked and thus not allowing the water to drain away.
as this requires the back panels to be removed I have to advise an engineer visit.
Have a look in repairs to see if there is an engineer near you.

    Re: Hygena APM2223 Extractor Fan

    Thanks Dave, seems reasonable.

Is there a picture available so that I can see I’m
    ordering the right parts?

Am I right in thinking the motor power feeds are soldered?
I could not see any simple connectors.

    Thanks
    Sticky
