    Re: replace thermostat

    Dave

The problem is the fridge keeps is freezing on the inside – down the back panel though mainly at the top of the panel, and also right at the very bottom behind the salad drawer. The freezer seems to be freezing things a bit too well. i.e. icecream goes like concrete rather than soft scoop.

Ken, you are running before we are walking, keep a lid on the plot until we secure the deal.

    Hello again.

Just sussed it. there are 2 small plastic lugs either side. Flex the box, and out it all comes.

Dave, the lights are laid out with the program selection buttons in one row left to right and the cycle status lights vertically next to them. Will post the PNC later.
    Thanks.

The flood protection system has tripped – the undertray of your machune will be full of water. Draining it will reset the computer, but you still have to find the leak.

    Penguin45. 🙁 😉

I pulled out the plug to isolate and checked for no kinks and blockages.I took the machine out and found in the bottom only a plastic/fibre cover protecting the motor/pump and heater connection. No undertray or drip tray that I could see.All was dry and in good condition , connections tight.
I then remove the front cover and connections from the Circuit board and replaced them one at a time .Switching power on/off as i did it this seemed to do the trick and its WORKING , thanks for giving me the urge to try and find the fault. Thanks Pengiun regards Colin J

Ooops typo and it won’t let me go back to edit my post.

I meant of course the market research company Mintel http://www.mintel.com not the french telecomms service Minitel 😆

    Re: Volumes

If you search the relevant words in the reports section of http://www.minitel.com you will get results for the comprehensive reports they would have created on market size, penetration of different manufacturers etc. if you then search words from the reports plus the word Mintel using the advanced function of google you should pick up newspaper articles about the reports which probably contain the information you want. Otherwise have a look at the reports themselves. They are expensive (around £1,000 each) but free to look at in your local business library (if you are anywhere near London, the British Library has them too).

Re: Which brand should I buy?

The ignition thing on the cooker can be a little bit annoying and I am glad that it’s come up as when I have complained about it, my hubby has said it’s clearly user error ..he really ought to try things out himself sometimes 😆

Glad to hear it’s a safety reason, i am paranoid about fire/gas.

I haven’t really noticed hassle having to peer beneath pans as I tend to light it, and my flames do sometimes go out (if i have my extractor at top power) – maybe it’s to do with height and angle. Or patience levels (see above re my husband’s comments on user error 😆 )

When we moved into our flat we couldn’t afford to do the kitchen for a couple of years so lived with the Neff stuff that had been here for 15 years and it all worked fine and didn’t have to get any repairs done. But after we got all new stuff even with adding another appliance that we use every day (a dishwasher) our electricity bills have halved so the new stuff is obviously more energy efficient.

Re the Miele issue. Does it really matter what it looks like? Does anyone want to look at a washing machine even if it’s better looking than the Miele? Why not just integrated or put it in a cupboard. My washing machine is accessed via a cupboard in the hallway but it’s actually part of the kitchen in that it’s backed into the corner unit of the kitchen to use that space. (luckily i have a lovely friend who is an architect who designed everything nicely)

    Hi Dave,

I have received a new PCB from LG, however they will not come and install it for me free as the unit is out of warranty.

Can you please detail what the other mods are, as I would like to do them also so as to not blow up my new PCB.

    thansk and regards

    Gary Allpike
