Re: 1937 GE flat top help needed

    Hi Karl

Then a VX0 will NOT work with your fridge.

You need a stat that operates a fridge with a ice box and normally come with a push button for defrosting.

Re: 1937 GE flat top help needed

    Hi Karl

You will need a thermostat suitable for a icebox fridge as if you fit a vx0 it will totally defrost that plate thus not allowing ice to be made

    Hi Alan

You still need to check if the heater/fuse/sensor ext have failed just search connect for rs21 and it’ll bring up all the parts and pictures

    Hi

Same as RS21 faults. just take the heater off the old evaperator and put it onto a new standard RS21 cover.

Re: 1937 GE flat top help needed

    Hi

Dependent on the fixings it may not be a standard swap over of the stat as some older refrigeration the fittings are different.

Also it looks like you have a ice box in the centre and if the phile fastens onto that then its not a vt9 or vx0 it’ll need a ice box stat which is whirlpool kit 2 if I remember correctly.

Re: Rsh1dtmh help. Buzzing and not reaching temp

    Hi

Ask him to take a sample of oil onto a kitchen roll. If its not clear then the appliance will be scrap..I always tip the oil out of the old compressor as a standing now..especially samsung RSH1..It is also a known fault as there was a technical bulletin concerning it.

Re: Rsh1dtmh help. Buzzing and not reaching temp

    Hi

More likely that the compressor oil has turned acid (common fault when the compressor fails on the RSH1 ) This in turn burns the new compressor out,If it fails again then this will be the most likely cause.which will make it scrap.

    Hi Karl

If your prepared to bring it or meet at some point with it then I can have a look,The last one I repaired was a 1945 fridgidaire which is still working after a few years.
