Having been nagged at…I have just been under the sink and removed the bit the wash m/c is plumbed into….found a load of fluff, two tiddly winks and a load of loose limscale, or similar.

Is just pumping empty and spinning on Prog 10…guess the next step is trying a wash.

Thanks to everyone for their time and help…being on social means every penny counts and I really appreciate it. Lets hope this is the last you hear from me….

Thanks, I have checked the syphoning of the conditioner section and it works fine…just the m/c never got to that stage before hitting E1

OK I have gone full circle now except that where it was emptying before, it doesn’t now!

Fill level looks OK and is consistent (specific to prog.)

I have discounted the heater as it will fill and heat a #1 – 90 degree wash no problem.

It is a magnetic pump which seems OK as you say resistance every quarter turn. Date on pump is 08/2002 Plaset Italy.

I will remove the U-Bend under sink – tomorrow now, m/c pumps cleanly into a bucket but not into waste pipe, unless bumping the m/c about has dislodged a load of limescale or something all the pipes and pump are clear.

Can you confirm sump pipe should be pipe – ball – insert – connected to drum?

…and I thought it was going to be simple…..!

OK…it still comes up E1 error with water still in drum. If restarted on program 10 you can hear it pump out the water before a spin.

    Any more ideas?

    Sorry ❗

I for one am totally confused as to your situation right now 😕

Now on the “bottle” question, you should fit it back into its tub hose fixing with the outlet pipe almost uppermost (or as near as damn it considering the limitations of space available!)

You have checked and taken the pump apart? Checked the sump hose and its ball-valve unit?….Bear with me on this……Is the drain hose connected to anything or will/can you see it clearly discharging into a sink/bowl/bucket or whatever when it drains???? Also…If you set it on a programme (say 4 for example) will it fill OK and STOP filling a short while later?

If the answer is YES! then please turn it off, set it to 10, hit START and tell me what happens…………………. 😯

OK, I’ve sat down, had a very strong black coffee and started again.
I have taken out the pump and taken it to pieces (again) made sure its clean and put it back together. Have removed the ‘sump hose’ from the bottom of tank and double checked there is no obstruction and the ball moves freely, there appears to be no filter of any kind…is this right?
I have again removed the collecting bell/plastic opaque bottle with the pipe that goes to the door mechanism and the pressure switch, I have checked that it is clean and the pipes are clear.
On refitting it I have found (which I didn’t before) that it does have a locating slot/groove which is at a different angle to what I have had previously.
I have set a #6 (her usual) program running before getting back to the computer.

So you are clear what has been happening is that it will go through a program to point #6 then go -2 >-1 and fail on E1. If you then set #10 it will finish pumping and spin as normal.
Just for info it has not been running any program as far as to collect the conditioner, so I am assuming it is the level of water (indication to m/c) that is causing the problem.

So far all I ‘ve got out of this is wet, a backache and the 20p I found in the sump the first time I took it to pieces!!

Thanks for all your help, here’s hoping….

    Hi Thanks for the info…

I have removed and cleaned the bottle and pipe previously, what I am now thinking is that I may have put it back with the small clear pipe pointing the wrong direction.
Can you advise if the pipe should come out the top, the bottom or side of bottle, as there seems to be no obvious “right” way up.
Have double checked the pump and all is fine there…if I can’t sort this soon looks like I have have to turn me pant inside out for tomorrow!
