    Re: Top Searches

And another thing that totally freaked me out.

When we improved our own website I experimented on google, typing in alsorts of obscure “Key-words” to see where they took me. It is incredible how many directed me to this site & of course with many postings there are lots of chances of the site capturing a browser, coupled with that there is a chance the punter will find one of our own sites that is liked to this.

The power of this site is out of this world.

I gather someone did mange to have a little browse, and no doubt read a few hot topics.

Not losing any sleep over it though.

Turns out the parrot had flown into her fridge whilst she had her back turned and settled in the ice box, yes of course she shut the door without noticing. After a couple of hours she noticed that parrot was missing and started to search for it, looking for open windows etc. only to find the poor thing was now a frozen parrot!

dead parrots were not covered under the terms of the warranty! 😆

I won’t go into “ceased to be, bleedin demised etc. ” Monty Python, Cleese & Palin circa 1969.

You could have at least suggested she pop it into the microwave to thaw it out.

    Can I just say,

Excellent choice of both parties here.

I know Martin somtimes writes an epistle at times, (no offence mate), but I can see he looks into and takes an active interest in all posts, no matter how trivial they may appear.

Penquin, (P45) I’m sure will be dealing with the out of hours and midnight oil burners, does he ever go to bed?

Re: Don’t Fancy Hotpoint, How about Hoover…

I hope they finally got the message thay my door is firmly bolted.

They have tried sending calls as postings “Hoover/Candy called me up”.

The history being an ex FAITHFUL Candy agent says it all, and they never even replied to my resignation letter or contacted me regards reasons or concerns etc. The work stopped overnight 3 Months before I terminated, except when an engineer went sick, was on holiday or they were unable to cope/handle the work.

No doubt by now they have the experience that we had gained the hard way, and are able to apply it for themselves. Let them bloody well get on with it I say.

That is a personal statement by me & I trust will not be considered as an opinion by the group as a whole. No engineers were hurt or harmed in the making of this statement.

It would be interesting to know if if that requirement is written in the Contract.

    Wcda.

With regard to service fees, what does everyone else get from them? I charge £36 for electric & £48 for gas products. I have never negotiated figures with them, I just set the rate to what I think fit, send a letter to Dean and carry on submitting invoices.

I agree it is a pain to send Kim a statement, but if that is what it takes to get paid, then I am happy to fax one.

I do suggest you keep a strict eye on what you owe them when they send a statement re. purchase invoices, and keep the account fully reconciled. They are still listing invoices I paid in April, and the cheque has been cleared. I write the details on every statement I send back with payment, but these are still listed as outstanding.

Contract? I’ve never signed one for them.

    Re: Members

Martin rightly suggested that more of us, (I mean others) should join this subscriber forum.

I think we need to come up with a cunning plan to gain more interest. Perhaps it is an idea to put a bit of bait out to attract more interested parties. As I see it at the moment there isn’t a lot happening in the section and we really need to pull more members in.

I’m not complaining as I think it is worth my £5 per month to browse the whole lot, anything in here is a bonus, but it would be a good thing if we can attract a few more readers to this area.

Is it worth putting the next juicy bit of gossip or whatever in here for 24 hours before moving into an open domain? then when people see a tasty header in the scrolling headlines bottom right, they may be enticed to put a hand in their pockets.

    Only a thought

“Oh yes”, says customer, “Mind you we had a hell of a job getting those bits of concrete out”.
I blew it and burst out laughing. He found the brackets, but had to ring his wife to find the 3 blocks – they were in the rockery!
    Penguin.

I had the same over 20 years ago. Zanussi 218 W/Mach, strangely no complaint of bouncing arond as the machine was about 3 years old & overfilling.

Took the lid off to fit a cold valve, no top weight, (the transit bracket used to lay on top of the block). As I was looking out the window I could see the curved block as a feature in the wall at the back of the patio, he made a little alcove into said wall, with a pot/urn in the centre of the recess. Looked good though, went back a few days later with a new block, didn’t want to demolish his handiwork.

    I could write a book.

    Dave.

Oh I’m a fully paid up member, I renewed last time, then after writing out the cheque had second thoughts. Hence my “is it all worth it letter”, aimed at C.H. & his bunch of chronies. The rest is history as they say.

I’d like to think I done some good and would like to have followed it up with my attendance at the council meeting. Can’t be in 2 places at once though.

    Re: No F@@@ers paying

S/Vast will never improve I’m afraid. I chase them every month and put them on stop at least twice a year.

The one that bothered me was Graham Smy @ AIS as he didn’t even pick up the phone when I wrote telling him I was getting disillusioned with the price structure etc.

I phoned several times afterwards left messages etc, he never returned the calls, finally I wrote & gave notice, never had a reply at all & after 10 years, that bothers me.

Can’t make it next week to the DASA thing, have phone J. Fitz & let him know as well as an e-mail banged off to the secretary.

    Re: No F@@@ers paying

I don’t pay Servevast till after I get paid from them, on top of that I keep the spares account @ 60 days, same as they are with me.

AIS I terminated that lot as I was always chasing money, I’m owed for 3 months now on some calls.

They never even answered my letters or returned my phone calls.

    Are they in trouble??

Thank god he’s not being considered, or he will fill it with his bloody ramblings, can I safely assume Trigger (Andy_Art_Trigg) is another that will ever be allowed either.

What about Penquin though? I know little of him but he seems to talk sense. If anyone considers him, put me as a probable yes.

Are you talking about the item coloured blue that started this thread? as per the piccie in the 1st posting; or the item we have let this conversation drift into?

Let’s just say both of these are stoppers.
