OK Just a little bit.
There are two sides to every debate, and perhaps the lines of communication have not been clear.
However “Debacle” is a good adjective in this case, all of today has been nothing but Forum Ping-Pong.
As regards “Goaded” take it from me, and there are others that know what I mean. I’m not being paranoid, someone else is however.
All I say is, we have a Troll who may be partial to Tiddy Oggies!
Nighty night.

Customers vote with their feet, if they don’t like it they tend to come back.
I’m not a fan of their web-site, and perhaps there is a secret agenda with this lot, and to be honest I don’t particularly care as I do not see them as a threat.
However I am concerned they may be promoting their trade association membership yet may not be FULLY fledged members. I don’t know the nature of the DASA full membership & associate membership system, but something tells me they have not got it right in the way they suggest they are members. Unless of course part of the package is they insist all repairers are DASA members and approved. That would be fun and maybe sort some wheat from the chaff.

Where is Alex gone, many pages ago he was very concerned about this issue, and as a DASA council member i am looking forward to what he has found out and any conclusions to this Hot topic.
Gone nowhere, and taken the decision not to get involved any further in this whatsoever.
I said many pages ago that I “Banged Tables” at DASA meetings regards this. I reiterated my point at the last meeting.
To see a post by Dr Dill, who has a different agenda, and thinks from another medium that I may owe him an apology for defending a prominent member of UKW, and he therefore subsequently seems to be trying to coerce me into this debate; does not surprise me in the least.
I will say no more on this subject.

ParticipantRe: Vat due tomorrow?
Right, I get your point re the period and being unable to make the payment. I assumed you were paying through the link on the HMC&R website, not via the Gateway service.
I always pay mine at least 2 weeks in advance, knowing the money will not leave my account until second week of the following month.
In which case how stupid to pick the busiest time of the month to insert a delay tactic.
Need to get out my office seat now and shuffle off to the loo.

ParticipantRe: Vat due tomorrow?
I use the government gateway. I can submit in the middle of the month following the quarter end, and they automatically take a direct debit the following month on the 10th.
I assume you don’t use the same facility.

Timer fault, unless turned off at the mains will never unlock. Symptoms was very common on that model.
Make sure you get the right one, there was an early and late.

Hence this comment. I can see this has no bearing on the WTA and in fact is intended to be divorced as such and perhaps from DASA as well, however it has degenerated by other peoples assumptions I suspect.

Bet you are dying to know.
Best left to Ade, I would copy/paste but as is Adrians matter, I think up to him to decide on publicity. I have no issue with my posting being popped on here.

Well sort of invited.
Normally all are welcome as a guest as long as someone knows beforehand. If you want to put in some input, then please let the Chairman know, and if possible may be able to raise your concerns, even if privately.
Apart from what may appear to be a list of concerns, I do feel a dialogue may be prudent to clear the DASA issue off your list, and will possibly ensure the matter doesn’t propagate to the WTA
Have you had a response from Steve Debeger the chairman yet?

Tosser is on the stir again on the Connect Repaircare forum.
He is trying to goad Ade into something, and to be honest he is mischief making.
Take a look Ade, and If I were you I wouldn’t answer him as he will probably not go away. I’ve made a comment in order to point out what a twat he is.

Adrian, by all means come to the DASA meeting. You don’t need an invite, and I promise you will be most welcome and not subject to a lynching. I would have thought perhaps an idea to just mention it to whoever it was from DASA that filled you in regards the 0800 scenario, and they will invite you officially. Also if you cannot get your point onto the agenda, you can have it discussed under AOB.
kwatt wrote:You can likely just go.
I’ve never come across a DASA meeting that almost anyone wasn’t made welcome and, even though I’ve not been able to make one for a while, I wouldn’t have expected that to have changed. I also think that DASA would welcome anyone from the WTA attending…………..
……….OT, if you can’t confirm that it will be okay I can get a hold of Dave, Phil, Alex or Jason and check it’s okay. Not that I would presume that this would be any issue at all. K.
What he said! DASA are aware that the WTA make us welcome, and therefore feel likewise. Can I suggest you take a look at the DASA website as the hotel is listed, and let someone know if you want food. If you want to stay the night before the hotel includes evening meal.

I as a DASA Council member has banged tables at meetings regards this. At times I have been a lone voice, but eventually the point has got through.
As a result, JTM are and remain as DASA associate agents. However as a result of my input & passion on this it is a criteria that as part of the 0800.com scheme the franchisees are to become full members of DASA by association, but not as associate members.
It is a stipulation that all new members of 0800 repair are members of DASA and to be so as part of their franchisee fee. As it is managed and integrated by being part of 0800.com so may not appear to all that these are full members, but please be assured they are.
If the above is not the case and if can be proved, I will put my name on the line to get this through once again. However I am confident the situation has been resolved. All that has been stated on the relationship between 0800.com & DASA has been anecdotal & without substance to date.

Assume you mean D&G R+1 where the lines are intercepted by D&G Inkfish who tell the customer some outrageous price to sell a “protection plan” and frighten off at least 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of our potential customers.
Where have you been? This was all going on when I attended the UKW meeting in Prestwich Manchester, I think that was 2006? I spent most of the morning session of that day in the car-park on a telephone conference regards all this.
Most of us don’t like it, and we fought vociferously against it. Didn’t manage to kill it but was able to reduce the impact and addressed a few issues.
Looks like we are stuck with it, but it is used by others such as Gias Hoover,Hotpoint etc. Have a feeling Whirlpool as well are on this.

They have simply done away with the old mechanical timer, and the new kit will be a replacement. There is a choice of kit related to serial number.

Used to it with the schools as we have lots of Som County Council food technology contracts. Normally carry out annual service/inspections in school holidays.
Had to to a H&S assessment regards the office, all the malarky regards going up steps, level floors, seating, computer screens, tipp-ex and solvents, demonstration and evidence of H&S training, appointed H&S officer etc. Notices of muster points, log of fire alarm tests and fire drills. Risk assessments mission statements god knows what.
Then I’m supposed to have a Banksman in the yard wearing a viz marshalling reversing traffic for every parcel delivery.
Best one, fridge in the mess room.
“If you have refrigeration equipment for staff use, please complete section 13 and supply a copy of your daily monitor of temperatures taken” Then “If there is no refrigeration equipment go straight to section 14”
So, if there is a fridge, as long as the temps are in criteria, OK. If there is NO fridge and the food is kept at room temperature and in the open, then no problem!
In the true spirit of health & safety I have therefore chosen to turn off the fridge & leave the door open and allow the food to “breathe” at plus 24 deg C, rather than risk temp increase to something outrageously dangerous such as plus 5 deg C. Saves me keeping a daily log! Also I like my beer at room temp.
Strangely they have no interest at all regards engineers in the field. Despite heavy products, slippery floors, electric shock, abusive customers filthy homes etc. However if anyone in here carries a compressor across the carpeted office, he/she need to have the weight assessed and wear protective shoes.
We live in a nut-house!
