I’m not getting more bitter and twisted on this.

It is looking really bad, I’ve just browsed the net and found some more.

I sincerly want this lot to implode, however that is a mean statement considering we all have friends on this site who for operational reasons have chosen to continue under the new regime. Should MFI flounder, as they no doubt will, it justifies in my mind why I told them to Naff Off.

Further to the accountancy concerns. Two rates can usually be set on most packages, and as long as you keep an eye on the dates, should be seemless. That includes purchases as well as sales.

What you will get though is insurance companies and manufacturers who will also be keeping an eye on dates & rates, and you will need to be on the ball or expect some rejections.

Last time (1989) wasn’t too bad and we were doing accounts by hand on ledgers in those days.

Personally I think it will only paper over the cracks, and as Ken says some will jump onto the opportunity to up their prices.

    Re: MFI

I picked up a snippet that a number of the agents management team are currently on 2 weeks leave?

To me that is a bit wierd, if they are employed by the new company, how did thay manage to qualify for holiday in such a short time, after all there won’t be much in the way of accrual.

In other words, if they are due entitlement from the crossover, why aren’t some of those like us who are owed be allowed something retrospectively?

Call me cynical, also consider if they are at a time of crisis, and supposedly a busy time for service, surely they need all hands to the pump. Especially when they seem to be phoning around looking for repairers.

Can anyone confirm if indeed they are on leave, as it may be fun to open the information up.

Surely Bosch would send an engineer with a replacement door. We get this on a regular basis being a request by the customer to attend as a service call to replace a door or side panel as Transit damage, and never a problem.

I assume Josh as in the GBDAR Creditors meeting thread is someone on the inside?

Pity if he meant it by “end of communication”, would be nice to keep the pot boiling.

    Re: Servis UK

I have just made a phone call.

No way is there any connection with Servis work, even on Badged Beko appliances, of which there are very few.

The only link seems to be between GDH and Beko on refrigeration, and if badged Servis, no action will be taken. They are more intesrested in the MFI account as there were some D/Washers that never got paid for.

    Hope that helps.

Do you mean refrigeration work, as the Laundry etc is nationally Service Force with a very few exceptions, and I would have heard if some areas suddenly landed something out of their comfort zone.

Yes but what is it all about?

Are they looking to take on Warranty work for Servis or for a retailer who has been stuffed by the demise of Servis UK.

Oh Dear, if they do may lose a few friends. Personally I would give any Servis I/G work a wide berth.

Just had this e-mail. What the hell is going on now I wonder? I said NO on all counts just to throw a spanner in the works.

    Dear ISDAL Agent,

Can you let me have responses to the following questions by return.

    Servis Appliances

1] Do you currently or have you historically, carried out repairs on Servis Appliances?

2] Do you currently hold a stock of Servis parts?

3] Do you have possession of a portable programming device for washing machine control boards?

Failure to respond may result in missing out on potential new business. Please email or call me directly with this information by 12/11/08 latest.

    Best Regards

No doubt you will contest it, otherwise as soon as people get their cheque books out, it will set a precedent.

Bear in mind, if they have the temerity to raise a C.C. judgement, (which won’t be their job to do as they have finished trading, and may be deemed as an illegal move) you can submit a defence, and they have to come to your court. Those of you in Scotland will have the vagaries of Scottish law on your side as well.

Best thing is to look at what you owe them, and if significant amount, take proper legal advice.

Yes, I have a few ISA’s PEPS Some Shares & 3 pension plans.

They all sent half year statements in the last 2 weeks, all of them advised the state of funds back in the Spring, then the second line shows what they are worth now. I wish they hadn’t told me; a case of “Look What You Could’ve won!

Having said that, I’m hanging on though, nothing is forever.

When I bought my 1st House interest was above 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} with Ted Heath, and climbed to 18{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} with Maggie. Now I have practically no mortgage & no little kids, it has come right down. Looks like I shall be working a lot longer than aticipated.

Good time to replace some vans though. My haggling skills are coming into being now.
